And no, your average American is NOT going to replace them working in the fields. If they were, they would have already done so.
Only 2% of illegals are working in the farming industries. The rest are doing jobs that American will do and have always done. There are unlimited H-2A visas for legal, foreign farm workers. So you were saying? Of course most Americans won't pick crops for a living. The body won't last and it's not a career job anyway. Many if not most Americans don't live in rural areas either. Once again these dumb arguments are shot down.

Agreed and HOW!

Word is even if farm labor wages doubled, food costs MIGHT jump maybe 5 percent, tops.

I'm calling BS on this argument.

The median wage is much higher than most people are admitting, and most of the jobs do not require a high school diploma or former experience:

Agricultural Workers : Occupational Outlook Handbook: : U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics

Just so that you know we are talking about the same people:

Quote:
Agricultural workers maintain the quality of farms, crops, and livestock by operating machinery and doing physical labor under the supervision of farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural managers.

...Agricultural workers usually perform their duties outdoors in all kinds of weather.
Please see the tables on this page:

Agricultural Workers, All Other

Quote:
Employment (1) 5,270
Employment RSE (3) 6.8 %
Mean hourlywage $14.90
Mean annualwage (2) $30,990

Wage RSE (3) 2.1 %
5-2092 Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop, Nursery, and Greenhouse

http://www.bls.gov/oes/current/oes452092.htm

Quote:
Employment (1) 269,650
Employment RSE (3) 1.6 %
Mean hourly wage $10.01
Mean annual wage (2) $20,820

Wage RSE (3) 0.5 %
So it looks to me like the pay is high enough for Americans to do the jobs that liberals claim "Americans won't do". As far as illegal immigrants, well, they are here illegally. What protections and rights do they have? None. One would think that the bleeding heart liberal circus would not want workers to be treated so unfairly, so poorly, given terrible wages, but it appears as if the liberals are the ones who don't seem to take an issue with illegals, giving them sanctuary cities and all kinds of excuses, and calling those who are against illegal immigration as "racists". No, those who have no problem with a person making crap wages when they could be making more if they were in the country legally are the racist pukes. As long as the "brown people" do the dirty work that liberals don't want to do, all is well in liberal land.

There is a bit of dishonesty with both parties on this issue - more so with the Dems. Who constantly tell us that food prices would skyrocket if agricultural workers made a little more, therefore we need more illegal future democrat voters. But that fast food prices would barely even rise if you dramatically raise their wages, therefore the fast food workers should vote democrat.

I can see an ad war on tv. States will be jockeying to attract the most because they are so valuable. Wait, what? You mean we are trying to get rid of them? How can that be when the libs say they are the entire reason our economy hasn't collapsed.

I don't want to pay 10 bucks for a lettuce leaf on my 25 dollar hamburger

Obviously. However, let's not let common sense get in the way of a good rant, shall we?

No, what she was doing is defending illegal immigration by stating that no one will clean toilets other than illegal alien Hispanics which isn't true and these type of people like to blur the lines between Hispanic illegals/legals and citizens of the Hispanic community. So she was attacking Trump for taking a stand against illegal immigration and making it sound like he just doesn't like Hispanics, period. Anyone with half a brain could see that.

She could have easily said; it's much easier to pay my Latino maid who speaks little English $5.00 an hr to clean her toilet, rather than $10.00 for an American maid. Young and older white women were always maids and waitresses, this job is not limited to the color of ones skin. I keep hearing Americans won't do these jobs, they used to and they still do. Now we are hearing Americans won't do construction.......I see Americans all the time doing this job. They are just convincing the elite Americans don't need jobs. Wonder why she feels illegals should take jobs from the legal Latinos? and Americans?

My guess Osbourne is more worried about loosing her cheaply paid maid and a status in Hollywood she has a non-white worker in her house.
