Trump was overly sensitive and offered no specifics, Rand Paul was sanctimonious and petulant (as usual), Bret Baier didn't waste any time trying to shore up and protect the Republican status quo with his ridiculous "pledge," Wallace, too, displayed his contempt for any challenge to RINOS, and Megyn Kelly acted like an idiot.

Everyone else did well.

The one Boston bombing suspect who was put to trial really didn't have a paper trail through NSA records, the brother did though. By using NSA intel collected, videos and the questioning after the arrest, the trial was done as fast as they could rather than having to build up a case like say Timothy McVay, the Unabomber, or the 1993 World Trade Center bombings. That is what I feel Christie was going for but he couldn't say all of that in about two minutes.
Agre but I get Paul's point, you don't know who will be the leader in future and that data could be used for political and personal gain. We know full well that power corrupts and those in power work to remain there, can we be sure that all that data gathered will only be used to combat terrorism? I doubt it

It certainly did. I thought Trump did okay. He got my respect 100% after he said, "I used this country's law to protect my company. That is being smart." My opinion about him hasn't changed.

Rand Paul did not get enough airtime. He got the LEAST airtime. I wouldn't call that fair and balanced. Paul had to FIGHT for spotlight and he made brilliant move when he challenged Donald Trump.

I will vote for the people Fox hated the most, Donald Trump or Rand Paul.

I can't disagree more. Trump was a circus act, though his critique of the US being more worried about being PC than fixing the real problems was spot on.

Did anyone else notice the bags under his eyes? He looked wiped.

I think Carson's 1/2 a brain closing statement was brilliant, as was Huckabee's Trump misdirection and then nailing Clinton. That one had me rolling.

Being a Paul supporter, I felt let down... even though he was spot on he came across as petty. He was absolutely correct when he said Trump is hedging his bets. Why do I feel like we are repeating the Perot idiocy?

I don't think there was a clear winner last night, but then it was the season opener and there's still a long season for these candidates to polish their messages.

You know these guys and gal will be going over their performances for weeks to try and get their plays sorted out.

I'd have to say Cruz was the best debater, Kasich made the best points and owned the crowd (home field advantage), Rubio did well as did Carson and Huckabee, Christie and Paul went to a debate and a fight broke outand Walker was forgettable. Bush was flat, and Trump... well, was Trump.

Still supporting RAND PAUL (but he better change his game up)

A career Politician... well, I just don't know....I want to trust Cruz...and believe he's for real, but when it comes down to it, at the end of the day, they are still indebted to whoever is funding them....
That is the reason why Trump is doing so well. He is not a career politician and has the financially backing to reject contributions from big organizations and powerful people. Fiorina and Carson are not career politicians as well but they lack the financial backing that Trump has. They would need to rely of large contributions if they want to get anywhere.

Wish I had seen this last night. Very frustrated that you had to have cable to view this. I know as a company they can do as they please, but having all of the general public have access would have been better.

Did I miss it? Was Trump not asked the God question, or about ISIS or abortion?

Somehow this is working for him?

Look at the posting history of the Trump side, look at the debate commentary thread from last night. Those all in on Trump are on your side.

As far as the strongest performer in the debate I thought Kasich handled himself the best.
