These debates should be tough. These are candidates for President of the United States, not a local PTA. I want to see the candidates under pressure. I want to see them mussed up after a shot or two. Someone will have to deal with Putin and Xi Jinping and the ayatollah of Iran and the mess this administration will leave behind...the last thing we need is another Obama.
Questions were fine but The moderators blew it and they did not act professional. What happened to Meghan Kelly? She was dreadful acted like a giddy school girl at her first dance. The production was sad the audio sounded like they were in a tin can looked like a high school production.

Well, that sure was a mature and intelligent assessment of the Fox News debate. Not.
I was pretty dissatisfied with the debate. Mainly because this wasn't a debate. It was a Q and A. And of course that's all it was, 10 candidates on the stage each getting to talk for a minute and a half, all being asked different questions and most not even being able to touch on every subject, what else would it be?
The Democratic debate has more potential. Considering they have half as many people running as the GOP had for their big debate, there's a chance this will be a proper debate.
Will CNN ask tough questions, which I agree, the moderators for the GOP debate asked tough questions, except for that last one about 'which of you has spoken to God' which is an absurd question to ask, I'm a bit more skeptical of CNN will be tough. They might expect more straightforward answer is we're lucky. The Republicans got away with so many non-answers. And I'll chalk that up to there were 10 of them and they had a minute to speak, but if that crap happens again, I will not be so forgiving. As I will feel with the Democrats if this happens with 5 people. I know Hillary will dodge the questions; I just hope the others don't.

I totally agree. On both sides, with extra scrutiny ideally provided by anyone who normally is more aligned with these candidates and their beliefs. So, Fox tend to cater to a more conservative audience, and as a conservative, I can tell you conservatives want to see the conservatives given the once-over by a team that is not just trying to play gotcha games.
What is interesting to me is that most Democrats and liberals do not appear to feel the same way. They seem to be all about making excuses for their people and promoting narratives that effectively serve as coverups for their preferred candidates weaknesses and shortcomings. They do not seem to want to have their candidates pressed on the most important issues of the day.
Fox News has set the standard here. Now we will see if the other media venues that hold debates - pretty much all of which lean left - will even try to do as well.
Why would the folks at FOX want to throw softballs? Real journalists always ask the tough questions, and party should mean nothing.
FOX may be in danger of becoming a News group!
