The overwhelming majority of black folks don't believe this. The vast majority of the people that believes the nonsense you just typed are the people that think like you.

7th Day Adventists are a bible believing people . Many things in the bible are partly known.. our limited mind can only guess as to what God has done and can do with his universe.. The earth very well could be just a piece of dust in God's house his vastness is so great.
Now where exactly in the Bible does it say that "one day equals a thousand years to God"?

"Many things in the bible are partly known". How convenient.

Including myself and friends:
South Carolina, New Jersey, Ohio and Maryland - the people range from late 20s to mid to late 30s. So not that long ago.

I really want to do a poll and see where else similar stuff has happened. I shared my own personal experience on another topic and many people chimed in with similar ones.

A few of my friends are teachers now, it isn't very different.

For the same reason poor parents aren't. They introduce them to the harsh realities of what will most likely be their lives from a young age.

My grandparents who raised me would literally laugh when i got ivy league catalogs at home. "You ain't gonna be a brain surgeon, hahaha!!"

Like most things, its a class issue not race.

Sadly it partially is as blacks are more likely to be lower on the socio-economic ladder as oppose to whites.

Sigh, again the racist CDers. Really you all are the shame of America in my opinion.

Ben Carson's book was popular with black people and we read it and saw the movie before you even knew anything about him.

The stereotyping on this thread is just sad. I pity the majority of you in your ignorance and our country that we have such ignorant, stereotypical, racist citizens.

It is sad.

They tried the nice way and it didn't work. Obviously you have to get in the dirt with them if you want to play and it's about time that someone did. No more Mr Nice guy.

No doubt they are per stats, but it's more accurate to say "poor parents" and not "black parents."

Too bad his book was so myopically titled.

I'm going to venture a radical thought. One of the accepted stages of development as a child is same-sex friendships and play. Around adolescence children/teens usually incorporate women into their interests and activities.

There are two possible versions of my thoughts:

  1. That sticking to the familiar same sex relationships is easier, i.e. the Peter Pan syndrome; and/or
  2. That refusing to involve oneself with women is some form of adolescent rebellion/angst that sticks around.

I believe that the sudden acceptance of homosexuality has encourages both of these. Some people may be genetically predisposed to being gay. But those numbers haven't exploded suddenly.
