It is not to worry. Should a Republican win the Presidency, within a month of him (or her) being sworn into office, many herein will discover what a wonderful economy it actually is! In just one month!

Exactly the point.
If Mitt Romney won the election in 2012, and the nation was in exactly the same economic situation as it is today (Dow Jones index, employment figures, housing starts, import/export activity, etc.) the Republicans would be dancing the Snoopy dance and shouting it from the rooftops.
The problem with that logic is that "disapprove" is not the same as saying they think the same as you do on what he should have done/should do in the future.
Sure, among the majority who disapprove of Obama's policies, some want less regulation of business, some want more. Some want a higher corporate tax rate, others, less. Etc..
Does that in some bizarre way transform into a majority think he's doing an Outstanding job.
Most Americans think that Pres. Obama has done an outstanding job in his efforts at recovering from the Bush/Cheney economic apocalypse. Just think how much further along this country would be if we were not having to also deal with a Republican party committed to America's economic failure just to spite our President.
No it is not "most Americans", it's not even half:
Of that 49, only 26 "strongly believe". Thus, your statement, without proof, that "most" Americans believe he's done an "outstanding" job, is absolutely false.

Notice that the sum (net) of strongly and somewhat is what is being reported in the executive summary so the conclusion is correct.
That is still more (positive) than those that disapprove.
My employer will reluctantly agree, that they have had the best 3-4 years in the history of their 45 year old business, in both GP and total sales.
Of course they also believe that the Pres., is a non-US citizen Muslim socialist, so I do occasionally remind them of how good sales have been for these many months.
You obviously work for a gun 🔫 manufacturer or ammunition depot. Congrats for doing so well.

It can if enough of those who want him to do more only disprove because he could do more.

Actually I work at a local hardware store.
This area SE Michigan is benefiting from the auto industry boom. Unfortunately full diversification of the Michigan economy never really happens after an auto meltdown despite the efforts of both Dems and Pubs. So reasonable to assume in a couple of years when auto sales hit another rough patch we will have a few bad years. But by that time, next spring actually, I'll be retired.

Reason: To add final paragraph.
Wrong, it is not irrelevant. And it certainly isn't irrelevant to people who find themselves in this position.
The fact is they wanted to continue working. So that makes the fact they chose early retirement instead irrelevant. They should count as those who cannot find work not the retired.

But they're not looking for work. If they really wanted to keep working, they'd be waiting by the phone anxiously waiting to hear if Walmart needs a new greeter.

How far are you willing to go in rejecting rationality and common sense to defend an indefensible statement ?
Whatever the reasons a majority disapprove of Obama's handling of the economy, it should be impossible for any reasonable person to turn that into 'A majority think he's doing an Outstanding job.'
I'll add that even if a slight majority 'approved' of Obama's economic policy, that's a far cry from absurdly using the word 'Outstanding.'
I wanted Recovery Summers I-VII to succeed. I get no pleasure from an increase in poverty. Nor do I pretend the economy is sound merely because Obama is not Bush, McCain, or Romney.
