I found it perplexing that there quite few US Citizens in the United States that would be willing to deny other Americans the freedom to fly the U.S. Flag. Every few months, you keep on hearing about someone battle to fly the U.S. Flag.
Usually, the its HoA or maybe some apartment that decides to enforce rules to ban flags. Like these news pieces:
Honestly, I would think a citizen of USA wouldn't enforce rules banning US Flags or create those regulations in the first place!!
Honest I would think a good citizen of the USA would abide by the rules of the neighborhood, which they agreed to do when they purchased the property, when they voluntarily chose to move there.
I knew this would be about an HOA before clicking it open. While I don't personally agree - you have to read the terms of the HOA when you buy a house in an HOA development.

Don't live in an HOA-controlled/managed subdivision and you won't be denied.

They signed on the dotted line. If they don't like it, they can move to a place where there is no HOA, or move to an HOA that permits flag-flying.
In case you forgot, or probably didn't know, the Constitution is an agreement between you and the government, and myself and the government, but there is no Constitution between you and I, or you and any other individuals.
