Scientists have been busy building computer models that predict a grossly exaggerated, catastrophic doom and gloom for decades. And each time when we reach the years where the predicted doom is supposed to be upon us, we realize how much they were wrong and how wildly they exaggerated.
Sea levels have been rising since the end of the last glacial period, 10,000 years ago. The level rise slowed during the little ice-age, but we warmed out of it, thank god.
So what do they want, for us to fall back into the LIA and stay there? Even if we did, the seas would still continue to rise because we are no longer in a glacial period.

LOL, that article was nothing more than a rah rah go Canada article. To put it another way, propaganda. Who would have thunk that increasing the price for something will result in the lower usage of said product. The taxes didn't lower emissions, people stopped buying as much because they couldn't afford it. THAT is the Degrowth movement in a nutshell. Limit people's ability to purchase (use) as much energy. That's it. NEXT!
Stop with your propaganda. All the extra taxes did was make people use less energy, which is the ultimate goal of you Degrowthers. You would love for people to get rid of their air conditioners and anything else that is a modern luxury that uses energy.
Next on the list is taxing food to reduce obesity.
I guess you didn't bother to read the article if that's what you think....Every dime of carbon taxes is returned to the consumer through reduced personal and business income taxes. It is a revenue neutral tax.
Even with revenue neutral taxes market inefficiencies are created. That is the purpose of this tax
