Another hero cop. Too bad people got so upset about this.
yup.. and funny how some people are questioning the unvestifation.... these are the same people who NEVER question an investigation when a cop claims he killed an unarmed man in a struggle.
cops are human...and some of them lie, cheat and steal
Official announcement concluded with overwhelming evidence officer killed himself by shooting himself under his bullet- proof vest, a carefully staged suicide.
Officer had been stealing, engaging in money laundering and forgery for years. Others ( Family? Other officers? Local businesses?) Officer had done a massive delete of text messages that were recovered. Bank records were also obtained.
Officer left a staged trail of evidence to lead Police/ FBI on a wild goose chase.
This community paid a massive tribute to this " fallen" officer.
This village had paid a massive tribute to this " fallen" officer and previously dismissed ongoing rumors that this was a staged suicide.
Some, including some media, do not accept the conclusions.
Unless he wanted it to look like a line of duty death so his family would get benefits. A suicide, no benefits.
The pension board has full discretion in awarding benefits to the widow. Suicide typically means a substantially reduced pension benefit for the surviving spouce. That he was engaging in crime will likely influence the outcome.
A Lake County Sheriff’s office commander on Wednesday accused Fox Lake,
Illinois, police Lt. Joe Gliniewicz of “stealing and laundering money over the
past 7 years,” among other illicit activities.
The Associated Press tweeted that he was accused of embezzling money from a
youth program.
"There are no winners
here. Gliniewicz committed the ultimate betrayal to the citizens he
served and the entire law enforcement community," Filenko said.
The investigation also "strongly indicates
criminal activity" from at least two other people, Filenko said, but he declined
to comment further as an investigation into that claim is ongoing.
I believe any person who wants to take their own life doesn't shoot himself in the vest or upper torso. They go for the head or mouth, is my belief.
How terrible if this wasn't a suicide.
I guess a cop would know how to stage signs of a struggle. Break some branches, roll over some grass or plants to smoosh them, scratch himself on some branches, kick up some dirt.
As I posted in another thread on the subject, I think maybe he wasn't trying to kill himself. I think the 2nd bullet was meant to go into his bulletproof vest also, but the gun slipped or he wasn't strong enough after the blow of the first bullet to hold the gun where he wanted it.

So, just what "dirt bags" are you referring to? No need to bother gathering facts before jumping to confusion, eh?
