So as I understand it, he was responding to a possible burglary and chased three individuals on foot. Then he was shot and disarmed. Did they shoot him with his own service weapon after a fight or were they armed and shot him in ambush?
We've been awfully quick to condemn the police for shooting unarmed individuals( sometimes with reason if video evidence shows it was unjustified) but the risk of getting into a physical altercation and being killed is real.
Commit a crime and/or get into a confrontation with the police and its not going to end well. Not for anybody.
The investigation into the death of an Illinois police officer earlier this month has been beset by clashes between the task force looking into the case and the local coroner, reports say.
Authorities say that while they continue to actively investigate the case as a homicide, they say they aren't ruling out suicide.
The first reports, over the first few days, said that the police officer had his gun taken and it was used to shoot him, and the gun was still missing. Now they claim the gun was at his body. This story stinks on many levels.
So why did the authorities do a illegal no warrant "forced" door-to-door search like what happened in Boston after the Marathon bombing?
That's funny ....... MOBs are marching in the streets calling for "dead cops", while the Democratic Party is supporting those same MOBs and you don't think that is "political" or "controversial". Police Officers are being executed for nothing more than wearing a Uniform.
What "MOBs" are calling for "dead cops?" And what does that have to do with what I stated? "MOBs" are not political organizations. Cops being killed by criminals are not political events nor is it controversial. Both are hazards of the job unfortunately.
This officer's death is not political or controversial.
Officer murders over a ten year span are at very low levels and are not increasing.
You all really need to obtain a focus and stop trying to relate everything to BLM or any other "black" or minority group. Most of your fears are heavily unfounded and not based in reality.
And again, this is not a political or controversial news story, you are just trying to make it one or the other when it is not.
None of us are privy to all of the evidence that has been obtained. It is possible to me that this was a suicide, but I think it would have to be meticulously rehearsed in order to make it look like a murder.
You would think with 400 cops swarming the area they would find 2 white guys and a black guy. This story has been pretty silent since the report first aired.
That would be one weird suicide, given that he had two bullet wounds. Not impossible, but not likely. I suspect they're being coy because they are on the cusp of breaking the case and don't want to tip the perps to what they know.
The police have handled this case very badly in not releasing as much information to the public as possible and not requesting help from anybody who may have seen anything. I think its entirely possible he committed suicide and they may be sitting on the evidence due to the circumstances. If they rule it a suicide, they take away insurance money and benefits form his widow and children and forever tarnish his image. And risk angering the local citizens. Or they can say it wasn't and they're left with a case they can't solve and risk angering the citizens plus they're basically committing a crime themselves. It's a no win for them. If they have the persons fingered, thats awesome, but again it doesn't look that way since they didn't appeal to the local citizens for help.
