Its actually pretty normal. I mean hey, I don't suppose you've noticed before...but cops die pretty regularly, and cops also kill folks pretty regularly.

Kinda depressing, but there you go.

You are absolutely right. The question is what happens if there is a prolonged economic upheaval. The level of desperation, the number of guns in peoples hands, the police trying to keep order. Man...this nation is a powder keg in so many ways.

Not really. Turn the news off and don't click on news sites. Then, magically, you'll be back to a 1950s "good old days" mindset where nothing is wrong with the world. Literally. I mean it. This has been happening for decades. You/re only hearing about it now thanks to the 24/7 TV news cycle and the Internet

Hmm...might be about the same. Its in the 60's and 70's we saw crime rates rise....then drop back down lately. Couldn't find any info earlier then the 60's with a quick google search, but im sure its out there somewhere.

Yes...I am well aware of what the media is reporting....it often creates a self fulfilling prophecy. However, I know for a fact that there are far more guns out there in peoples hand than there used to be and I also know that the economy is in a very, very fragile condition. We are in a NEW situation in degree, if not kind. Our morals as a nation has declined. Our economy has declined (only sustained by debt). There is not the glue to hold the fabric of the nation together like what existed in the 1920's before the great depression. Another great depression in the US would be nothing like the last....in regards to lawlessness.

I have to agree that it's probably just getting reported more often with more sources for it to get reported. There might be some insignificant blip but it has happened for a long time. That's the reason for the protests.

Before the cops would just saying that the dead perp was attacking them. Now we see otherwise, but the person is still dead.

You do know we just had a massive one recently right?

And guns have always been out there. But in 1970 for example about 50% of people owned guns. Now its about 33%
