When a CEO thinks he can dictate my thoughts, I no longer support his company...

He's saying that his company has no room for hate, and if you want to spread hate, you should probably invest somewhere else. What's wrong with that?

I would never, ever, buy as much as one drop or one bean of Starbucks coffee.

Not because of any political or social conflict.

I just can't stand coffee.

He can have his overpriced hipster crap. Never went into one and never will. I'm surprised people actually spend money on that stuff anyways!

Haven't seen/read/heard his statement, but if he's equating support for traditional marriage to "hate" his message is flawed.

McD's coffee is tastier. I am not being the least bit facetious.

I think the thread title and the OP's comment were a little misleading. There was NO warning, and Schultz was not trying to "dictate" anyone's thoughts -- although he did make it very clear what his own opinion is and what he would like others to believe as well. (To illustrate what I am saying, I personally dislike hip-hop and rap music and I wish that retailers would not play it over their loudspeakers, but that does not mean that I think I have the right to dictate what music business owners should like and/or play.)

For a (slightly) more detailed report about what was said and Schultz's response (without the heavy editorializing), you might want to check out the following.

Forbes Welcome
