it is mind boggling to see all the facts on this movie. Unfortunate fact is that almost all the countries in the world (movie takes example of Russia banning the GMO altogether, Norway with strict regulation, French scientist has proven lab experiment that GMO is very likely cause of tumors in mices) but United States has total f**k up in this matter by getting bought by Monsanto where they invested millions on lobbying efforts to impede the law for GMO labelling. The way GMo foods infiltrated almost every store and consumer has left with no choice whatever in the regard of GMO vs. non-GMO choice. WHat i understood is somewhere between 70-90% of foods depending on what, is somehow related to GMO and likely to be intentionally or accidentally has GMO trace in it and no regulatory oversight, independent study whatsoever available and any attempts are shot down by the industry themselves.
Equally disgusting is the fact that Monsanto is cannibalizing the whole farming industry by creating monopoly in the food namely in seed that they are trying to patent their products. I believe it is serious enough issues that many people needs to be aware and voice support against it.
The movie also features the Haiti, "poorest country in the western hemisphere" that during their devastating earthquake, has resisted Monsanto's help of giving the country tons of "manufactured, genetically modified seeds" into the country but people of Haiti has courageously rejected Monsanto's help despite their dire situation and ruled out the GMO seeds which in doing so protected their natural agriculture industry and way of living. But alas, citizens of powerful United States lost this battle long ago and most people does not even know (as depicted by serious interviews by many bystanders in the street who has no idea even what GMO is) and does not even have a choice whatsoever.
So at least in this regard, powerful and poor is a highly relative term IMHO.
We watched that months ago it's sad that people in other countries can stand together & do something about it, while over here people are fighting over a flag.

I have been following it. Here are the main points.
- Human population is increasing and it's getting harder to feed the people. GMO provides an inexpensive way to feed the world population.
- None -GMO methods for growing foods involve pesticides and other chemical additives that are often known for causing cancer.
- Russia's ban of GMO is commendable, but our life expectancy is sufficiently higher then Russian to discredit them.
It is my understanding that here in the US, we don't have none-gmo foods.
none-gmo foods actually taste differently and are slightly nutritionally different (last time I was in Russia i had their none-GMO subway sandwich). I could not finish a foot long double meat sandwich, half a sandwich like that would keep you from feeling hungry all day long while walking around Moscow.
