There wouldn't be a U.S. or a Constitution of use to anyone if our national security were destroyed -- say by traitors in this country enabling a foreign power to defeat, occupy and take over our country.
During WW II, people weren't asked to black out their windows and accept food rationing, they were told to do so.
There are times when national security really does trump the freedoms we enjoy in peacetime.
That's why I don't criticize the internment of Japanese-Americans (as well as German- and Italian-Americans) during WW II.
The only reason why the Soviets (and later the Red Chinese) had nuclear-armed ICBMs aimed at our major population centers was because American traitors gave the atom bomb to those countries. We were the only ones with the bomb, and we certainly didn't give it away voluntarily.
What good is a Constitution if the Government has the right to exceed its power by claiming its defending the right to limit its power?
Yes, they where asked to "Ration" but they didn't put an MP in every house to make sure you did what they wanted.
Yes, there are times when National Security Trumps personal freedom, but that's not the case 24-7 by any means.
Gathering up people based in race or religion is never right in any situation. That's Nazi ideology.
One has to be pretty arrogant to assume Americans where the only ones with enough sense to build an A-Bomb, especially when it was German Minds that built it with the knowledge they already had in Germany. I would bet my life that all the specs and info to build a bomb existed on paper there also, so your "Traitor" excuse is invalid. .
Right. I could even have a little more respect for the guy if he wasn't hiding in a country that promotes the exact opposite of everything he said he was trying to expose.
You mean like a Country that would extradite him to the USA? That's funny.
Perhaps you should join us in the present , and not in History, that no longer applies today. Yes, they did all these things, and we now know today, that it was unnecessary, and over reaction.

Snowden is a traitorous POS who didn't do anything out of a sense of patriotism or a love for his country. He is a fame w h o r e and I think it's rich that he has to live in Russia, under a government that is FAR more repressive than ours will ever be.
F him.
You obviously know nothing about his story. You should watch the movie with an open mind.
i have mixed feelings about what snowden did. on the one hand he did expose the NSA and what they are doing, on the other hand he violated his oath to do that.
Isn't that what lots of people have done when faced with illegal or immoral governments? What about cops who helped blacks escape slavery after swearing to uphold the law? Same thing.
It's unfortunate how the Obama Administration tried to move heaven and earth to capture and silence him all while completely ignoring the actions of people like Jon Corzine and other banksters who got rich while bringing the country down to ruin.
Fortunately Snowden exposed the complete idiocy of the US government for everyone to see. It has to be the most delusional of partisans & war hawks that see it as anything else.
I would disagree with your word "idiocy". It's tyranny and a clear violation of our constitution. On top of that, the NSA director lied to congress when they questioned him about massive surveillance.
Meanwhile, Liar Obama continues to support these illegal activities.
One does not take an oath to hide illegal actions of the state.
This is true. In fact, we have a moral obligation to oppose illegal actions of the state.
