What will it take before people began to think, learn and grow, to grasp and understand the nation of American and respect the Constitution. After all these Centuries and Decades, people still have the carry over biases and bigotries and there are those who have never ceased to carry on the fight of the Civil War to want to "indenture people", they seek by every covert means to create as much Antebellum madness as possible.
It clogs up Congress, and the Right Wing and Tea Party is based in the premise of Confederate Ideological Premise.
The unfortunate aspect is many are hard core supporters of this madness without understanding how and why they are caught up within it. they often don't understand the devastation it causes to the extremes of poverty that exist in Red States and Counties and Parishes across the country.

MLK tried to explain it but they simply did not and will not open their minds to grasp it.
he said;
Quote:
Racial segregation as a way of life did not come about as a natural result of hatred between the races immediately after the Civil War. There were no laws segregating the races then. And as the noted historian, C. Vann Woodward, in his book, The Strange Career of Jim Crow, clearly points out, the segregation of the races was really a political stratagem employed by the emerging Bourbon interests in the South to keep the southern masses divided and southern labor the cheapest in the land. You see, it was a simple thing to keep the poor white masses working for near-starvation wages in the years that followed the Civil War. Why, if the poor white plantation or mill worker became dissatisfied with his low wages, the plantation or mill owner would merely threaten to fire him and hire former Negro slaves and pay him even less. Thus, the southern wage level was kept almost unbearably low.
Speech at the end of Selma March
People fail to look at the actions of Nixon, in his turning Southern (Confederate Minded Democrats of the Era, into the Modern Day Republicans]

People fail to look at the Reagan policies, which set the tone to rip and strip access to higher educations, he began that assault in California as Governor, and carried it forth as President. Since then not only has the cost 'escalated like a rocket", the ideology of what is taught, became elitist, as well as the push and prodding of segregating society by the university participating, from the working participants in society. This led to the Union Busting Madness that took off like mad.
Nixon set the tone for Outsourcing, by the massive move to move Steel Production to China and escalating the Appliance Productions to Japan, This led to other administration pushing under the G.H.W. Bush and his new deal, which led to the rise of textile and electronic industry transfer to China.

It's time America look at how the politics's born in the Confederate Antebellum Mentality, has infected this nation in ways that it may take two generations to change the paradigm. But if we become blind and driven by selective Amnesia to put a Republican in Office, then add on two more generation of stagnation and regressive policies, which set up back and additional 40-50 years beyond the 30-40 years we have suffered and stand to face challenges, as long as we have the madness of congress being infected with this Right Winger mentality, of "cut something", "give tax breaks to the wealthy", "allow banking to further rip and rob us", turn the financial markets more into dominating casino's for the wealthy to do their gaming". these are only a few aspect of the madness.
But be fully mindful of the WAR AGAINST SENIOR CITIZENS, that is being waged by Republican, trying to destroy Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and any other provision and benefit for Senior Citizens.

The wealthy care nothing about Senior Citizens, they care only of the Youth, between working age of 20-55 - beyond that age, the wealthy have no use for the Senior Citizen Population.

If you are today, over the age of 50, go out and try to get a job !!!! If you are over 50, pay attention to the process of politicians and the wealthy working in concert, to try and cut benefits and make it near 70 before you can get any benefits or coverage. If you are beyond 75, they want to cut every provision of Medicare and Medicaid, because to them, you have not value.

If you are a member of the ranks of "THE POOR", it does not matter about your race, it is a matter that you are considered a member of "The Poor", and you are not benefit to the wealthy, once you reach a age where you can't give the labor they want. If you are a member of "the Poor" and expect a decent wage for decent work, you are out of luck.. they fight to keep minimum wage low, and destroy any chance to create a union, because they don't care about you, and want to make sure you don't have a collective voice.

You are MADE VOICELESS, by any and every means, to ensure you are without a "collective voice", so they destroy unions and try and disband any senior citizen advocacy group, or any group who speaks for the working people, the poor, and for sure they want the Senior Citizens to have absolutely no voice. If they can take away your means, then they weaken you to the level that you can't pay attention to the indenturing systems they put in place, and the relegation of the senior group to a non factor in their view of America.
Unto the ideology of the wealthy who own and drive the congressional groups, you only represent a cost, not a benefit to society.

Listen carefully to the Republican Candidates, none have nor show any advocacy for Senior Citizens, and they have very little concern for "The Poor", except those they can use for poverty wage labor.
they rather create drama about stuff that is over, such as any other "BUZZ WORD" drama sequence and cycle they can drum up to keep people "distracted and enraged about much to do about nothing".

Awaken people - the day, time and hour is here to become aware.

This site is populated with a high volume of senior citizens, often time posting and commenting on 'drama driven articles', they don't indulge to dive in and expand on subject material, or take discussion beyond the talking points the media has bombarded them with.
They were not groomed to think in broad terms, and certainly not out of the box concepts that expose the assaults which are directed toward them.
They get hung up often in the "drama sequence", some get played into the "bigotry game" and want to blame minorities for the nations issues.

Quote:
When it is a given fact that 13% @ 41,000,000 cannot use as much public services or anything else to the level things are used by a white population of 77.7% @ 245,000,000.
At the high figures, maybe a estimated 23,000,000 black minorities use Public Service at some point, Vs among the white population at a high figure 190,000,000 use public services at some point.
Among Hispanic of 17% @ 54,000,000 at a high among them, 30,000,000 use public service at some point.
Let' look at the income levels on a realistic scale and level

Quote:

The Social Security Administration released wage statistics for 2013, and the numbers are startling. Last year, 50 percent of all American workers made less than $28,031, and 39 percent of all American workers made less than $20,000. If you worked a full-time job at $10 an hour all year long with two weeks off, you would make $20,000. So the fact that 39 percent of all workers made less than that amount is rather telling. This is more evidence of the declining quality of the jobs in this country.

Here are some more numbers from the report that the Social Security Administration just released...

-39 percent of American workers made less than $20,000 last year.

-52 percent of American workers made less than $30,000 last year.

-63 percent of American workers made less than $40,000 last year.

-72 percent of American workers made less than $50,000 last year.

Think about where do you really fit as to "economic class"???

(The Lower Economic Class)
  • Non-Middle Lower Economic Class: (Dire Poverty, Below Poverty and (at) Poverty
  • Middle Lower Economic Class : 10-40% above poverty
  • (Upper)Middle Lower Class: 30-70% above poverty
(The actual dollar span between these is very narrow- its gets smaller when you factor 3 person home, 4 person homes).

We have not yet - discussed the Basic "Middle Class"
  • Below Median Income - 71% above poverty, but 10-40% below Median Income
  • Median Income Groups - Middle Class based on Area Median Income (At Median Income to 10-40% above Median Income.)
  • Above Median Income Groups - 30-70% above Median Income
  • Higher Middle Class : 71% above median Income to Double Median Income
The Above Median Wealth Class
Those earning over $250K per household up to $400K. (Stable Family Business, Individual Small City/Community enterprise, and various Professions within the localized community).

Community/City Wealth Class:
Those earning 400K upwards per house hold, based on income derived from the localized community and within the city or general Smaller Metro.

Wealth and Influence in the City and Regional Areas.
Those earning $1million, to $10 million, in the localized community and the regional metro - with some out of metro income avenues.

Wealth and Power in the City and Regional Areas.
Those earning $5 million, to $100 million (+), in the localized community and the regional metro - with some out of metro income avenues.

When statistics state that many American have little to no saving, how can they have saving at these wage scales in an era where inflation has outpaced earning for the past 50 yrs. Outsourcing has reduced wages for more than 30 yrs.
The population has "aged" increasing the population among the Senior Citizens, many of whom rely on public assistance at some level.

Therefore it is important that the Senior Citizen push hard to regain voice, they should push harder to push back the Right Wing assaults on Public assistance programs and Social Security which provides a lifeline of support to the massive volumes of senior citizens and those soon to enter the ranks as being senior citizens.

Considering we have a government of the rich, by the rich and for the rich good luck with changing anything. This is the ultimate success of the aristocracy of the south. Domination of everyone by a few proper people.

Broaden the Mind !!! It's amazing how the mindset within and among a great many of the Right Wing, refuse to acknowledge big picture realism. again, this goes to the often used term of "Confabulations"
Confabulation range in emphasis. Some theories propose that confabulations represent a way for memory-disabled individuals to maintain their self-identity

It not unparalleled to those who seek to utilize concepts of supremacy, as a mindframeto avoid facing what it takes to measure on a level of "equality".

It's more likely the ability to understand and interpret what is written is a challenge, especially when the added element of "short attention span", "selective amnesia" and, "to the extent of stages of dementia", "to the longing for attempts at nostalgic re-creation as a means to try and gain mental comfort, based on confabulations about the false premised memories of the past".

REALITY is here today !!!! - faced or un-faced, it is a fact composed of a multitude of intertwined variables, factors and aims.

Right Winger- Republican Attempts at promoting Austerity is itself a program and form of attack, which does not serve "The Poor" , which includes all those of all ethnicity and races who make up the ranks of "The Poor".
"Austerity" has no regard or concern for its impacts upon the Senior Populations, nor does it care to concern itself with the damages being done and those proposed to be done unto the Senior Citizen Population of America.

People can listen to Right Wing Ideology, which fits many who long for the days of Antebellum Confederate aims, such as those of the era's long gone past. Some long for the days of "supremacist delusions", as well as concepts and models of "segregationist policies". These types will fight hard to deny any truths of a system which includes the assaults upon them as well. They can't see that far, nor think that deep, because 'Bigotry of many flavors and types dominate their minds conceptualizations".

Those who are aware can and will grasp the perspective of the original post and its support commentary. Those who choose not to see or expand to grasp the realism, will continue to deny much.

Turn on your TV and pay attention; how many commercials concern the Senior Citizens, (except those selling Pills and Medical items), in the sitcoms, the made for TV or made for Theater productions, does not have focus nor feature of Senior Citizens, if they are present, they are relegated to non consequential roles, except, when they need to use a highly decorated one, as an authority figure to push or promote a point.
As to the daily realism of what is a "Senior Citizen", it does not factor in production nor presentation within the media presentations nor depictions of what is America.

Even among actors and entertainers, beyond the age of 45 for women, the roles are few, when men get 60, unless he is a big name, the roles are few.

But each person may develop their own thoughts, thought it is advisable to do so with "Open Eyes and Open Minds", to see what is hidden right before your eyes, by 'drama and dynamic's of script and production techniques and methods.
The Senior Population is relegated to a higher degree of 'non presence" in what is aired in the media.
This is the same mentality which influences and reflects also in the Congressional Ranks as to what is the political masses.

Many people are very skilled at blinding themselves to realism's, until it either slaps them down, kicks them in the rear, or they meet a challenge which sends them into a tailspin, while anguish drives them to wonder how did the predicament wraps itself around them, and they come to face being confounded to the point they can't find a way out. Then they look for someone to blame, except themselves or the apathy which has been the tonality of their life and manner of living.

It's evident of the "generalized mentality" in how so much has deteriorated right before the eyes of the walking and breathing, and they stand confounded, still failing to accept their role and part in the demise of so much.

It's ok in the big picture of things, as some will never awaken and some are too fearful to awaken and some are simply too ornery to pay attention, as with life, time will bring those types to die out, hopefully their ignorance does not cause them to suffer too much in the processes.

For the Future, we shall hold hope that the new generation who will some day become the senior citizens will become so as being knowledgeable, aware and involved people, who demand a voice as long as they live, and understand the politics which impact their lives and force political reforms and demand people respecting politicians to fill the elected ranks.
