Wow. It does not appear that our scientists or our peer review process are nearly as trustworthy or reliable as we have been led to believe.

There have been 170 retractions so far with many more expected.

This is clearly a conspiracy within the scientific community to lie and to fake the validation of scientific results, for those simple minded folks who like to think that conspiracies are an impossibility.

Major publisher retracts 43 scientific papers amid wider fake peer-review scandal

A major publisher of scholarly medical and science articles has retracted 43 papers because of “fabricated” peer reviews amid signs of a broader fake peer review racket affecting many more publications.

The Committee on Publication Ethics, a multidisciplinary group that includes more than 9,000 journal editors, issued a statement suggesting a much broader potential problem. The committee, it said, “has become aware of systematic, inappropriate attempts to manipulate the peer review processes of several journals across different publishers.” Those journals are now reviewing manuscripts to determine how many may need to be retracted, it said.

Ivan Oransky and Adam Marcus, the co-editors of Retraction Watch, a blog that tracks research integrity and first reported the BioMed Central retractions, have counted a total of 170 retractions in the past few years across several journals because of fake peer reviews.

I'm glad they're cracking down on this.

We might end up seeing even more climate denier-run journals being shut down by their publishers.

Or deniers like city-data favorite Richard Tol being exposed as irresponsible and corrupt:

Hopefully this will put a dent in people's claims that scientists and doctors are infallible from corruption-even when it is "peer reviewed".

What is a "climate denier"? I don't think I've ever seen one.

A "climate denier" a colloquial for a person who does not fall for liberal lies and propaganda.
