Really.......I think the Dems were for the war before they were ever against it. Seems the Dems kept up the same policies, after they won both elections.

You must have missed this..........His undeniable genius was in working Washington. “He had the ear of Republican and Democratic administrations said Brian Katulis, a Middle East analyst with the left-leaning Center for American Progress.

Something most of us have agreed on all along.

Bullcrap opinion piece under the guise of "objective journalism."

The U.S. did not "fail" in Iraq. Saddam is dead, and a democratic government has been elected. Just because there wasn't a gold-plated nuclear weapon discovered in Saddam's closet doesn't mean the effort was a complete failure. I despise propaganda that is designed only to appeal to low-life liberals who slop it up like the intellectually dishonest pigs that they are.

His death in Baghdad at age 71 has laid bare the deep divisions that remain regarding the causes of the U.S. failure there, the lessons that have yet to be learned from it and the raw anger it still provokes.

About half of the Senate Dems and a clear majority of House Dems opposed the Iraq war in 2002. And yes, Obama continued the policy of pulling out of Iraq that Bush and Maliki agreed to in 2008. So what?

The Iraqi state is as dead as Saddam.

Saddam's ouster was the worst self-inflicted foreign policy disaster in U.S. history.

Oh, that was the objective? That's a bit of a weird rationale for a chief executive who runs on a platform of avoiding nation-building - then again I guess he could argue that we should have known he was a lying cipher and so it's unfair to be surprised at broken promises.

Incidentally, the "democratic government" is a Shia theocracy.

Oh, very true. The Ministry of Oil was seized forthwith. The Tuwaitha nuclear facility was left unguarded for a few weeks but hey - priorities!
