I ask this in all fairness. I don't particularly like Bill Maher's politics but I enjoy his show and debates. And to me, it seems that Bill Maher may be more in tune to what his party stands for then many of the ones that hold these blinded views.

During his panel discussion on tonight’s Real Time, Bill Maher addressed how liberals rush to defend Syrian refugees and Muslims without acknowledging that many embrace a value set that is not shared with most Americans.
In all fairness, Yes, he is. He's fair about all religions. I have to give him that.
I laugh when he insults Christianity and Christians, I am a Christian and I don't interpret Christianity the way he "thought" I would have. But it is his freedom of speech, he is a comedian first and foremost. So it is all good.
I cry (figure of speech) when the left attacked him for insulting Islam.
That is the scary double standard I can never understand.
Is he obnoxious? Yes, is he fair about ALL religions? Yes, he is.
I agree with lilyflower. He's a comedian who uses shock value to entertain. He knows and panders to his audience. There's really no way to gauge how "true" or deep his liberal political views are.
Like lilyflower, I'm a Christian who appreciates his anti-religious humor.

To even think he's not Liberal is a mistake. Maher is not a closet Conservative. I don't have to agree with Liberals all the time, but I do occasionally. This is one occasion.

Only the actions of his entire adult life. Which are quite liberal.

I'm a liberal atheist and his humor makes me cringe at times.
I watch him regularly because I think he sets up and moderates some of the best panel discussions on TV.
Maher is an entertainer, currently espousing progressive tripe because progressives comprise the majority of his moronic audience, and one of the stupidest people on TV. Clips of his show are cringeworthy.
