USA population in 2007..... 301 million

USA POPULATION january 2009......305,529,237

USA population TODAY.................322,834,567

the population has grown over 17 million since 2009..and 21 million since 2007, and yet barely added any jobs

The labor force is not a fixed number of people. It increases with the long-term growth of the population, it responds to economic forces and social trends, and its size changes with the seasons

total employed in oct 2007…........................……..146,743,000

Americans Employed, January 2009:.................. 142,187,000

total employed nov 2015..................................149,364,000

so the population has increased 21 million since oct 2007...yet employment has only increased 3 million

this current economy is NOT keeping up with the population growth

The earliest baby boomers (born 1946) would have started retiring in 2011.

Retirement age was 65. It's now 66 and will be 67 in the future.

The number of people being counted in some analyses as unemployed will continue to surge, but that will be due to the unprecedented number of boomers born between 1946 an 1964 who will be retiring.

It wasn't called a 'baby boom' for nothing!

I don't think the number of babies being born today, or in the last few years, outnumber the baby boom retirees.

facts don't support what you think

but the facts still remain

FACT: number of americans turning 65 (average age most people retire) daily.....6,000-8,000
number of americans turning 18 (the average age for people ENTERING the workforce(BLS uses 16)) daily...... 13,000

and the "'millennials " are a BIGGER generation than the boomers, or gen x

Only 60 percent of baby boomers report having any retirement savings
36 percent said they plan to retire at 70 or later
Retiring well? Not most baby boomers

fact is the avergage retirment age is about 65 (64 to be exact)

yes many can retire early...but most dont

yes many can retire more than once...(I already have one pension, and and WORKING on my second) aka STILL WORKING

The Average Retirement Age

most boomers are not retiring, they are putting it off
Why are Americans putting off retirement? - CBS News

and the ones who are retiring are not in as good of a boat as most think

Why Labor Force Participation Is Still So Low - Bloomberg Business

Doesn`t explain why so many young people are not working, but older adults pushing them out of fast food jobs does.

Then on top of that Obama wants to bring in almost as many refugees as this job claims.

That leaves us at net zero gain.

I really don't understand how the discussion works here at all.

This statement is, of course, blatantly untrue. Do you feel compelled to provide evidence? Don't how foolish you like to anyone with a functioning brain?

Why can conservatives on here just make things up, post it, and go unchallenged.

What happened to conservatives being about ethics and honesty?

This whole discussion is absolute garbage because most of the conservatives on here can't delineate between what they wish to be true and what is true.

Exactly!

This is why minimum wage is such a non-issue because the job market is so hot everyone has to pay double and triple minimum wage just to attract the help they need.
