Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau and Ontario Premier Katherine Wynn greeted the 1st Syrian refugee flight into Toronto. A photogenic family got the spotlight. A similar flight into Montreal was greeted by the mayor and the premier of Quebec.
Canada will take in 25,000 Syrian refugees by February - families, not single men, who have been in refugee camps for the past year/s. In 5 years they will be Canadian citizens and free to visit the US without much scrutiny.

Why the hell do we need to import these people anyway? Syrians have never been allies of the US. Syria and the Assad regime has always been opposed to the US. Let the nations that border Syria take them. Let Syria's allies in Russia, China, Iran, etc... take them in.

Over half of that first planeload of Syrian refugees were Armenian Christians.
