I can't speak for the right but would argue that the biggest complain about her is : She runs on a history of failure, lies and corruption. She gets away with it because she looks like a grandma. If she had to debate in a berka, with no one knowing who was under it, no one would give anything she said any consideration.

the efforts to pass laws to kill gays existed before the church interceded. don't you think that in order to change the laws you need to engage and associate with the people who are trying to pass the laws? So if the church is involed they are certainly not endorsing anit gay laws.

You think the pope is anti gay and wants people killed???

Islam is spreading across Africa and they do not embrace LGBT. That would be the larger concern if indeed LGBT rights were the focus instead of anti christian agenda.

Nobody was killing gays over there according to the article. Nobody even bothered them.
I do not recall ANYONE in the left saying Iraq should NOT have democracy.

I also do not recall ANYONE in the right opposing the message that US sent to Uganda and other African countries who made homosexuality punishable by death.

Do you support death penalty for homosexuals in Africa?

I went back to the Bush days when he was charged with imposing Democracy on Iraq.

I am saying that they should decide for themselves. Just like in the past, others were saying Iraqi should decide for themselves if they want democracy.

The article in the OP says that we spent $700 million pushing other countries to accept our standard. 1- We don't have any money. 2- It's none of our business. 3- Gays were not generally bothered over there until we stirred them up, according to the article.

Who said that, and who in the right supported death penalty for gays?

I do not think either claim is accurate.

How we feel about it is irrelevant. What goes on in African countries is none of our business.

I find it very sad....even my host family in Kenya thought homosexuality was a sign of possession. But there's enough to worry about here, and everything is relative. There are things that are accepted here that people in other countries find atrocious, but should they be trying to take control? No.

With regards to Iraq... google "bush impose democracy Iraq".

I don't know who supports the death penalty for gays.

I don't know why it's so hard to understand that they are fully capable of governing themselves, and were OK with themselves until we started messing around in their affairs.

I am old enough to remember those days. The rationale kept changing as time went on. The Iraq war was first "justified" by a need to rid Iraq of WMD. Then, it was to "free the Iraqi people" and "bring democracy."

The reality is thatAmerica invaded Iraq because the Bush administration wanted a war. The public justifications for the invasion were nothing but pretexts, and falsified pretexts at that.

And you are OK with child soldiers , human trafficking , and so on I guess since clearly we must stamp out everything we don't like no matter where we find it. File under "not world police"
