Both sucked. Given my district is demanding wage cuts and has declared it will be several years before they give the next step increase I expect the 2016 to suck worse. I had to stop saving for retirement in 2015 (If things keep going the way they've been going for the past several years I will never retire) and will need a second job in 2016 and beyond. If you know anyone in SE Michigan who wants to hire a chemistry teacher part time, let me know. I'm afraid my good years are all behind me. It is what it is and there's nothing I can do about it.

The only thing that was better in 2014/15 was my outlook. I still had hope that my district would keep their word and actually start giving the step increases they said they would when they hired me. I now know that will never happen. It's depressing but I can't change it. I'll keep trying to find something else but I've been doing that for 4 years now. I'm not holding my breath. If I were younger I'd go back to school for another degree and start over again but I'll be too close to retirement age when I finish if I started another program now to make the time/money investment worth it.

For me, 2015 has personally been a good year.

There needs to be a neutral poll option for this.

For me 2015 was pretty well indistinguishable from 2014.

My career and finances have improved by leaps and bounds over the past 4 years... but maybe it's leveling off for now.

I got some big plans tho

Just what you think of the year

I think overall it was worse than 2014.

Not that 2014 was awesome but 2015 turned out to be a transitory year.

Globally and locally many issues are left unaddressed.

Let's see what happens in 2016.
My personal life has been slightly better in 2015 than 2014, but I haven't been truly happy with my life since 2011. I moved to OKC in 2012 and have been unhappy ever since. Still, 2015 was an improvement over 2013 and 2014, just not as much of one as I would have hoped.

The political tension over social issues like the SCOTUS decision, guns, terrorism, and Caitlyn Jenner casts a shadow over this year in my opinion. Without those things, it would have been a lot better.
