No one cares what the Feds say, they are out to lunch and have been for many years.
And anyone that doesn't see MJ being completely legal in the US in a decade or two is also out to lunch. The wave of legalization is unstoppable and the 2016 election will usher in many more states that will completely legalize MJ.
When it's legal, toke yourself to death. Until then, use every legal method to make it legal if that's your choice, just respect the law.
"The Florida Right to Medical Marijuana Initiative, Amendment 2 was on the November 4, 2014 ballot in the state of Florida as an initiated constitutional amendment, where it was defeated. "
The liberal fascination with marijuana laws is a conundrum. We live in a representative republic. You can't simultaneously use a majority of public opinion as justification to ignore the law while taking an opposite approach on other matters. That leads to lack of respect for the law. I don't disagree the Feds have too much power and jailing millions is stupid use of resources. But it's the law. All you have to do is elect some politicians who stand for dope and get the law changed. That's the way we do it in America.
Not a liberal, but a libertarian, and I think the war on drugs is a failure. I also think that it is our duty as American citizens to protest and even disobey bad, unjust and immoral laws. We also have an amendment process that the feds conveniently failed to use when they enacted the ban. I guess when you're getting your palms greased by special interests then and now, who can be bothered with such minor details? I see we are somewhat on the same page in terms of the feds overreaching, and having too much power, but where we differ is the whole "the law is the law" premise.
What about this other reason: It's against Florida state law.
There is no State law which mandates how Counties should punish minor offenders. Broward and Miami-Dade Counties (plus Keys) can handle it on their own

Laws that the majority of people object to lose the respect of the people. It damages not only the enforcement of that law, but others as well. And these laws have been ignored by a large portion of our population for a long long time.
thats actually impossible.... pretty easy with alcohol though.
If we're being technical, yes. There has not been one documented death by overdose from smoking too much weed! OTOH, there are several documented instances of one dying from drinking themselves to death!

a lot more than several. its like 1600 annually in the USA alone..
No, many have died of marijuana induced heart arrhythmia. Lets not fool ourselves. Pot is not harmless.
Incorrect. There's not a single documented case attributing Marijuana as the cause of death. Stop making stuff up!
Of course, moderation is key. Water can kill you if you drink too much!
Yet our government tells us it's ok to smoke tobacco, indulge in deadly pharmaceuticals and drink alcohol.
