Exactly.

I don't know that they were prohibited fromother questions since it was a town hall, I don't think they were showing up anyway.

The NRA is preparing a petition protesting the EO's as a violation of second amendment rights although they didn't specifically address any details. The EO contains many things that have nothing to do with gun restrictions, additional ATF agents, funding for mental health. I assume the feel that eliminating gun buying trusts and expanding background checks is an infingement on the 2nd amendment but there answer was general.

Obama is helping the NRA and promoting gun sales tremendously so it would be foolish for them to undermine his efforts by making him look bad.

the fact is that the NRA doesn't want to help solve the problem. Just look at their fight against smart gun technology. Why would they even fight that? We know not everyone is going to by a smart gun that can only be fired by the owner, but SOME will. and if that helps prevent a child from accidentally shooting themselves or a person stealing a gun to commit a crime, how can they possibly ever be against that. again, they are cowards and just want to keep the status quo

What problem is that? Private ownership of inanimate objects? How dare they! Too funny.

Obama is in the right in my opinion. Chew on that. It isn't about taking your guns away, but it is election season and your handlers are blowing the dog whistle.

The NRA is not against OPTIONAL safety devices.

The NRA is against the Government making them MANDATORY FOR ALL GUNS.

Just one reason of many... It would prevent a safety course trained user (spouse, responsible teen child, etc.) from using another household member's gun for self-defense. It's too restrictive. If my husband goes to check out a noise downstairs and gets incapacitated by an intruder, why shouldn't I have the ability to use one of his guns to protect myself?

Or are you admitting that by implementing such technology, every American should have their own gun on them at all times?

Obama isn't even admitting or addressing the real problem. Read my post with the Newsweek article link.
