Remember that when it comes to presidential elections, "It's the economy, stupid!"

The stock market is in freefall. Over 20% of Democrats already say they're voting for Trump.

When the economic recession fully sets in, I wonder who America will trust to revive the economy ....

This woman?

Or this guy?

Yeah, you're right. The guy living in the Versailles knock-off who said that Americans are paid too much is just the guy people will embrace if the economy gets troubled.

Your link is a dial test and online questionaire of "self proclaimed" Democrats and "likely voters" showing the same number of likely voters going each way as the margin of error is 3.5%

Further more ,your link gives no demographic or regional break down of those who were questioned, and yes that matters because a "crossover Democrat" in Alabama has been voting Republican for about 10 years now.

and the economy and the stock market are two different things.

americans are worried about their jobs and their communities. the stock market is filled with international firms from Asia, Latin America, Europe, and the US, etc, who derive their revenues primarily from outside the US, and don't necessarily employ Americans.

I recall that in November 2008, after Obama won the election and the economy was failing, Rush Limbaugh opined that Obama was to blame.

The reasoning according to Rush: when Obama was nominated at the Democratic National Convention that previous June, the 'market' began to panic knowing that Obama would win the Presidency (which seems odd that Rush would claim, after the election, that everyone believed in June that it was a foregone conclusion that Obama would win over Senator McCain and Ms. Palin).

So! If we keep Rush's logic, since many now believe it inevitable that the Marchioness Trump will prevail this coming November, then that must mean that he is to blame for this downspin in the stock market.
