I don't recall 19th century folks lugging portraits of themselves to the voting booth and life got along quite well.

Some people like to say this yet I have never, not once, ever had to show an ID to purchase cold medication or even my own prescription medication.

LOL! Yea women were banned from voting and blacks were subject to bogus "tests" at the polls.

Nice comparison.

Store policies vary as well as state laws. It has to do with meth manufacturing.

Where I am some over the counter drugs are in the pharmacy now and I have to show ID to buy them.
Benadryl is one of them.

I got carded when buying some Sudafed in Portland, OR.

In Maryland, you have to show ID to buy cans of compressed air for computer cleaning.

Yep. That SHOULD be true, nationwide. The amount of pseudoephedrine (common cold/flu OTC med ingredient) that an individual can purchase each month is limited and individuals are required to present photo identification to purchase products containing pseudoephedrine. In addition, stores are required to keep personal information about purchasers for at least two years.

There was no hue and cry whatsoever over the poor and minorities not being able to buy OTC cold/flu meds.

You can thank the growing meth industry for that.....which is a real problem, unlike in person voter fraud.

"Some people like to say this"... yes I assume they are ones who have experienced it. Just because YOU haven't doesn't mean it's not a thing elsewhere. No one who says this is making it up. Each time I buy certain cold medicines, I need to show ID AND sign.

So... why is showing a photo ID to buy cold/flu meds not a problem for the poor and minorities?
