Once the door is opened, it never closes and they make it wider...

As you grow up, you will soon discover this. I hope it is not too late for you to gain a little common sense.

If it passes by 2/3 majority, in 2/3 of the states, I'd be OK with it.

You do not have the common sense to understand what happens when 50.1% tell 49.9% what to do.....

Someone is gonna get told what to do regardless. And right now the people have zero say or influence in the bills made and voted on in Washington DC.

Water rights are major.

But the point is that your proposed solution doesn't solve anything.

If your goal is to increase the influence the people have, I have a suggestion.

Remove the cap on the number of representatives in the House of Representatives. Even England has more representatives in their lower house. The cap makes no sense in the modern world, and it does a lot of harm.

If we had more representatives, and we used modern technology so that representatives could work from their offices in their districts, rather than having to live in DC, we would give constituents much greater access to their representatives. And more representatives spread out all over the country would make lobbying them more expensive, so the influence of corporations and special interest groups would be greatly diluted. Plus, if a legislator voted in a way that wasn't in the interests of his constituents, he'd be right there to hear from those constituents.

Some things should be a national vote. Taxes should only be voted on by the people who pay them.
