Who here remembers when George H.W. Bush was President? In winter/early spring on 1991 his approval ratings were into the 80's he seemed like a lock for re-election but he lost. And before anyone start with the "Perot factor" his (bush) approval was in the high 30's to low 40's on election night 1992 so his reelection looked like a long shot from the start..Perot just sealed the deal.

At this time in his presidency George W. Bush was way up, hey the GOP even gained in congress for the midterms (a rarity) but at the end of the day he was reelected by one of the narrowest reelection margins in history. A win is a win but if you count where he was 5 months before the midterms he should've had a 45 state sweep minimum not a slim margin against a real loser in john Kerry (Bush 04 was the only GOP candidate for president I ever voted for, allowed to vote in 2000)

Bottom line way to early to tell for anything plus with talk of Trade wars, rising gas prices, no wall (remember he PROMISED Mexico will be paying for it), north Korea is not trustworthy, the latest immigration crisis, Mueller, plus the market is starting to show signs of slowing, neither side, left or right should be popping champagne.

No--I don't remember anyone saying it was fantastic, but maybe you could cite some facts about Obama's 38 to 42% in the polls being celebrated. Thanks.

Same thing happened to my aunt, pre-ACA. Small business owner, paid for health insurance for many years. When she got lung cancer and got 1 lung removed, the insurance company denied the claim, even though they approved her for surgery and the insurance was active the day of surgery. They later combed through her insurance application(which asks you to list all md visits, all medicines, all surgeries, all diagnosis) and they got all her prior medical records from all doctors for several years before she was insured.

She forgot to list 1 visit to her primary care doctor a decade ago when she had a cough and was diagnosed with bronchitis and got an antibiotic (and got better). A decade later she gets lung cancer and they said she fraudulently lied on her insurance application and that she had a preexisting condition and lied about it.

ACA prevents insurance carriers from doing this to people after they have a large claim. Anyone that gets a non-ACA compliant plan risks this happening to them. It only happens when you have a large claim for several thousand dollars or more. That's when they start looking for any little mistake so the can deny your claim even if you've been paying for the insurance policy for many years. Could happen if you went to the MD many years ago for a migraine and then 6 years later get a brain tumor. If you forgot to list the migraine MD appt and Rx on your insurance app, they'll deny your brain tumor claims.

According to the Rassmusen website, they actually speak to nobody.

They use robo-dialers and recorded questions and record the answers. They could be polling a 5 year old and not know.

Rassmussen?

Another rigged poll.
Why do you say it's rigged?

How impressive. So if the election were held today Trump, the incumbent, would lose. And the clown has only been in office a year and a half.

I wouldn't bet on it. Presidents have won with lower approvals than Trump, and many of them with less than 50% of the vote. Lincoln won with 39% of the popular vote. Clinton and Wilson both failed to EVER get 50%.

We haven't seen what kind of candidate The Left has offered up yet. Last time they served The White House on a silver platter.

Awesome. This is the sort of attitude that's making his percentage go up and up and up.
