I hear this often from Republicans. They believe that 'secularism' is being shoved down their throats by liberals. Examples they will often give include the fact that religious displays such as the Ten Commandments or a Nativity scene are prohibited on state property, the fact that state-sponsored prayer or Bible reading in public schools is prohibited, or the fact that they cannot teach religious explanations for the origin of life alongside scientific evolution. Things like legalized gay marriage, legal marijuana, Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis, and the War on Christmas also are typically a part of this conversation. Mike Huckabee has even referred to what we have now as a "secular theocracy" that is opposed to God's law.
So in essence, many people believe that a government that doesn't favor Christianity and is neutral towards religion is oppressive to Christianity. However is that really the case? Do you believe that a neutral government is oppressive to Christians?
They're wrong. It reminds me of when people argue that libertarianism or removal of state force is an attack on them... authoritarians on both left and right see it as oppression when they don't get to force their views on others.
It's not oppressive. Churches even get tax breaks. Anyone can worship as they please - but on their own time, and their own dime. No one is forcing them into a same-sex marriage. No one is requiring them to try marijuana. But they have no right to force their religious ideas on everyone else.
Republicans these days seem to be very aggrievedly paranoid. Or is it an act to bully the rest of the country?

I agree.
Here is a list of supposed "acts of hostility" towards Christians during the Obama administration. Almost none of them are actual instances of discrimination against Christians.
"The annual White House Christmas cards, rather than focusing on Christmas or faith, instead highlight things such as the family dogs. And the White House Christmas tree ornaments include figures such as Mao Tse-Tung and a drag queen."
How is that discrimination against Christians?
Here's another gem.
"July 2009 – The Obama administration illegally extends federal benefits to same-sex partners of Foreign Service and Executive Branch employees, in direction violation of the federal Defense of Marriage Act."
How is that oppression?

Ok, just curius: Why do so many people stigmatize Chrisrians anyways?

Oh yeah is that why companies like Chick Fil A and Bass Pro Shops later get backlash then? Come on now

When corporations throw the weight of their brand behind a political cause it usually results in boycotts by somebody who is offended or who doesn't agree. Think Starbucks, Target, and now Nike.
Christians are not oppressed. When you hear Christians whining about so called oppression, what it means is that they are upset the government performs less overt acts today specifically favoring Christianity as the favored/majority/default religion in the country.

Don't forget Home Depot and Papa John's
