yet another young one finds gun, shoots themselves

DeKalb cops: Toddler finds gun in mother

Quote:
A 2-year-old boy who found a handgun inside his mother’s purse and accidentally shot himself in the abdomen is expected to survive, a DeKalb County police spokesman said Monday afternoon.

Officers responded about 2:30 a.m. to a call about a child shot at a Knights Inn on Panola Road in Lithonia, DeKalb police Maj. Stephen Fore said.

“The mother heard a gunshot and found her 2-year-old [son] had been shot in the abdomen,” he said.

55 accidental gun deaths a day. Lots of them involve small children.

Common sense and guns usually don't go hand in hand. One of the many reasons for anyone wanting to own a gun should go through an extensive gun safety course before being allowed to carry.

I carry a gun. I don't leave it where kids can get it. I don't have kids so that's easier for me. But if I am where kids might be I ensure my gun is secure. It's pretty much a no-brainer for anyone with any training. This is why experienced gun owners are always recommending training for new shooters. I'll put money down that the mother has never had a gun safety class.

Just can't wait to roll around in the blood of the innocent, can you?

BS. Why do you anti gun nuts keep repeating lies like that, especially ones that are so obviously wrong? Just can't help yourself? Take out suicides and there aren't even remotely close to 55 deaths a day AT ALL, much less accidental deaths.

There are so few children killed by guns the CDC files them under "other causes", there aren't even enough to warrant their own category. But of course facts never matter to anti gun nuts when they can just keep repeating lies and propaganda.
