Nah. Stoners only think they are doing well. Everyone else is laughing at them.
Pot gradually erodes your decision making ability and in the end, you're just a pothead. Nothing more.
Like I said in the other thread....I know many professionals who smoke pot daily. They don't smoke it do get high. They smoke it to treat aliments such as anxiety and pain and so on. Why are you pushing pills when a natural plant does the same thing. It obviously doesn't erode decision making since these people get up every day, go to work and make hundreds of thousands dollars a year. So why would you laugh at them
Hawkeye, I know that you addressed this to someone else, but I must ask.... Do you believe a person can be a regular (or occasional) user, yet come to work sober during the course of their job?
This question applies to alcohol use as well. Just because someone smokes (or drinks) in the evening after work doesn't mean they show up stoned (or under the influence) the next day at work.
I know many stoners don't care and are indifferent to this, but there are many responsible users (or people who would like to enjoy the benefits of marijuana) that are respectful of the laws that govern.
"Regular cannabis user" does not = being stoned at work all day.
Yes-
I feel it is like alcohol. There are those who are occasional users who can be overall functional employees. Those who are chronic users will show compromise of effort, intellectual capacity and judgement, similar to alcoholics.
It is like any sedative hypnotic (I never condone such use as a physician- 1-2 drinks of alcohol actually reduced the incidence of MI, but I won't tell people to drink). However, those who use such meds intermittantly will not suffer long term negative consequences of these drugs and will probably be able to function well on a daily basis.
Long term and frequent abuse is quite a different story. Essentially equate pot to alcohol- there are those that function with low dose and moderate use. Chronic, daily abusers do not.

Uh huh...you "feel". Opposite of you "know". You a physician? Lol, totally laughable. Nice attempt though.
Cannabis is not addictive.
However, like all things it can be overdone.
Society should be more concerned with grandma's OC and all the benzos available in most households today.
If it's like weekly or more, I'd say you'd have to be one of a verrrrrrrry select few.
Do I think any random person could smoke out every few months or whatever and still be a productive professional?
Probably. But several professional licenses would have you out on your ass if you were caught.

You don't like what he said so you question his credentials? Nice.
And so typical.
I'm a doc and agree with him.
I'm staring at an electronic greaseboard with several 'productive' drug users on it right this very second.
