Does the so-called "bathroom law" change your perception of North Carolina? (racist, politicians)

Florida doesn't have any laws like this. Some Florida cities have had protections for the lgbt since the 70s. Here we are 40 years later and states like NC are still discriminating against the lgbt. And the North Carolina people voted this government in. Shame on them.
Rick Scott and Pam Bondi refused to allow gay marriage in Florida last year until threatened by the Justice Department.
Shame on the people of Florida for voting them in.
What part of disconnect between the general population and a back-asswards State Government do you not understand? As a resident of Florida, it should seem that you would 'get it' more than most.
No, not really.
But it does showcase that it's true EVERYWHERE that ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES.
In the case of N.C, it's the end result of extreme conservatives having taken control of every aspect of N.C. state government.
Let's all flip out about 0.3% of the entire populationn."
I'm a little alarmed and a lot disgusted that they went out of their way to spend taxpayer money to legislate hateful stuff pertaining to 0.3% of the population.
There are so many things the government is supposed to be involved with and on top of and they waste their time with this?

Rick Scott and Pam bindi can say anything they want. They didn't get anything accomplished. The people of Florida would not allow it. North Carolina people did.

Aren't you alarmed?
Proportion. Yeah, laws are dumb. I agree. This one, however, does considerably less damage than a lot of others. Like the Patriot Act, just for starters.
The bathroom thing is the least offensive part of that so-called bathroom law. The worst part is that it prohibits cities from passing any laws that would protect the LGBTQ community. That's what's most important, and that's why people are outraged.
To be clear, this law was never about transsexuals and bathrooms. It was a transparent attempt to restrict gay rights, and deprive the LGBTQ community of any chance for equal protection under the law. They added the bathroom thing to get yokels arguing about grown man sharing bathrooms with their eight-year-old daughters.
This.
And no, my opinion of NC hasn't changed. I lived there briefly more than a decade ago. This didn't surprise me.
I still don't understand why NC needed this law. Way to go in focusing on the really important issues, creating bigger government and interfering in the lives of citizens.... some real conservative values for ya
