If you can't see that they acted on principle and in good faith then you're too short sighted to understand anything they did for you. Being ungrateful makes you blind. Or were you blind from the beginning?
Those of you who blindly worship the Founding Fathers as if you were in a cult are constantly talking about their exceptionalism. And you refuse to see their expediency. It has nothing to do with being in a different era. It has to do with their flowery prose versus their earthy reality.
Thomas Jefferson is one of my heroes. I've been to Monticello numerous times, read much about him, respect him above all the other Founding Fathers. But he was an imperfect man who impregnated at least one slave, nearly went bankrupt and pretty much went insolvent before his death, and did not live up the words he was responsible for.
However, insulting someone's political beliefs because you believe the opposite (especially on a political forum) is quite a different thing than insulting someone's religious beliefs because you believe in nothing.
You assume I'm not religious. You couldn't be more wrong. I'm just not your style of religious.
