Federal immigration authorities plan to build a separate unit for transgender detainees in a new facility under construction in Alvarado, Texas.

The Prairieland Detention Center, expected to open in November, will house a total of 700 detainees and will have 36 beds set aside in a separate unit for transgender detainees, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Detainees are asked about their gender identity when brought into detention facilities in order to make housing accommodations, according to current ICE guidelines.

What a waste of Taxpayer dollars. Why should we spend millions to accommodate illegal transgenders????

According to OBAMA separate bathrooms for transgender people is discrimination? I guess it is okay for our children though . Thats what the president told us , Right?

If the goal is harming the country, which includes increasing our debt on frivolous spending projects... then this makes total sense.

They won't be deported. Transgender is now becoming a protected class in America, so they can argue under our asylum laws that returning home will put them in danger that they wouldn't face here.
