It's got to be one of the most disgusting displays by a US President in the USA's history. Obama grovels for the USA dropping the Atomic Bomb. This while millions of migrants are trying to escape the countries that he has bombed and left in shambles.

WWII wasn't a war of choice. Obama's pointless wars against Libya and Syria were.

Obama Blames Atomic Bomb on "Religious Zeal" and "Nationalist Ferver"

While Obama grovels in Japan, these poor people were trying to escape the country that Obama decided to bomb with no plans for handling the aftermath. Wonder how they feel about Obama's trip to Japan?

WW2 WAS a war of choice. We created imperialistic Japan and suffered its consequences.

Did you actually watch/listen or read the speech, Waldo?

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/28/wo...apan.html?_r=0

He certainly didn't grovel, he didn't even apologize. It was a good speech, thoughtful, well measured in it's tone and something any thinking American should be proud of.

The White House actually sent a press release that Obama was NOT going to apologize nor should he.
From what I have been hearing on news radio the Japanese see the dropping of the bombs as a new beginning while America sees it as an ending to the war.
It has also been reported that the average young person in Japan has pretty much the same disdain, disinterest and a foggy idea about anything having to do with WW2 as their American peers. Pretty sad.

I thought Obama's speech was a good one concerning the proliferation of nuclear weapons but I couldn't help think how he and Kerry just worked to release billions to Iran the number one exporter of terrorism for their nuclear programs.

I voted for Obama in 2008 hoping for better than GW Bush. Instead, Obama made Bush look like George Washington.

At least Bush didn't apologize for winning WWII.

As long as we are dwelling in fantasy land:

Wasn't it disgusting when President Reagan went and apologized to the Nazi's, and then went to that cemetery and prayed to the dead SS soldiers? Wasn't it?

Has Japan apologized for Nanking?

5 Attacks on U.S. Soil During World War II - History Lists
One of the most unusual military actions of World War II came in the form of Japanese balloon bombs, or “Fugos,” directed at the mainland United States. Starting in 1944, the Japanese military constructed and launched over 9,000 high-altitude balloons, each loaded with nearly 50 pounds of anti-personnel and incendiary explosives. Amazingly, these unmanned dirigibles originated from over 5,000 miles away in the Japanese home islands. After being launched, the specially designed hydrogen balloons would ascend to an altitude of 30,000 feet and ride the jet stream across the Pacific Ocean to the mainland United States. Their bombs were triggered to drop after the three-day journey was complete—hopefully over a city or wooded region that would catch fire.
Nearly 350 of the bombs actually made it across the Pacific, and several were intercepted or shot down by the U.S. military.
