Oh my Gosh! Almost everyone knows how to change the channel in 2016. But we're talking about this bad trend happening in mass media nowadays and about degradation of journalism.
There are sooooooooooo many more media outlets than 10, 20 years ago. "Mass media" wants to sell ads. There isn't anything nefarious about the degradation of journalism, it's just been replaced by the fact that anyone barely literate enough can start a blog.
If you are having trouble finding worldly, accurate news than that's a personal issue.

No, I am not having trouble finding accurate news. But I am really curious why there are so many brainwashed sheeple around despite we have soooo many more media outlets nowadays? Who made them misinformed zombies?

Themselves obviously. People like to hear what they want to hear and that's even more possible with so many options. People just stay in their echo chamber.
The American media devotes one half hour a night to what is happening around the United States and the World. Or so we thought.
A couple of weeks ago the USA was in the crisis of 2016. The potty crisis. Every night on both the local and national news we were told how people don't want women with penises to use women's rooms. Is this really that important?
Meanwhile, two percent of the population of France has taken to the streets in protest over an abrupt change in the labor laws. The French people have a 35 hour work week. Now there are to be exceptions. That's worth fighting for and they are. In the initial clash two dozen French cops were injured. The new change in the labor law allows greater use of layoffs as a tool to make the next quarter more profitable.
The American media hasn't breathed a word about this. They're too busy reporting about potty laws.
Perhaps the so called MSM in the US is scared to report on Lib / Socialists workers in France by the conservative kooks on radio?

You mean they should be more bias and report on the french more whose world is going to come crashing down if they have to work 39 hrs instead of 35? Oh my God, There's going to be exceptions?
Some people might actually have to get the job done.
What are those exceptions?
"flexibility and the possibility of more, local union-employer agreements to circumvent rules, including the 35-hour week."
You mean the local Union (The Workers) and the employer could possibly agree on more hrs if needed instead of a blanket labor law forbidding. You jest! How dare people wanting or needing to work more.
Nobody here really cares should be the point driven into your head. When most here desire to have a full time job and more hrs to earn more money, they don't want to hear about the french militant unions of strong communist backgrounds moaning because they want to produce less. Guess what, neither do many in France.

I don't waste my time on the evening propaganda shows anymore. The only news broadcast I would even CONSIDER watching is the PBS news hour as they tend to just report the news.
I have no television service; not even an antenna. In my opinion watching television is a waste of ones time. I do enjoy entertainment and watch netflix for an hour or two in the evening but that's it.
The toilet crisis of '16 is nothing more than a manufactured distraction. They do not want the people thinking about real problems.

Perhaps you missed it, but the "Big Three" have a daily conference call with the WH in which they "coordinate" the news. Investigative journalism has long been dead in this country.
Scrap the conspiracy theories. This isn't rocket science. The news is owned by corporate America. The news must therefore produce at best, a profit, and at least break even.
Americans are not interested in what is going on in the rest of the world. Nobody watches it, ratings go down, no sponsors--no profit. Get it?
All of the major networks used to have international news bureaus in West and East Europe, Asia, and South Africa. Those bureaus were all shuttered in the 80s and 90s because Americans were not interested in international news and the networks could not afford them or the personnel. The news producers of the MSM would love to do international stories--they hate infotainment.
This is why when there is a major international news story, CNN is first on the scene--they still do international news. You can also watch state-funded BBC News or PBS News for international or in-depth stories. Fareed Zakaria also covers international news in depth on his Sunday program.
Corporate America gives Americans what they want and what makes money. Americans don't want international news. They want to be entertained. That should be quite obvious this election cycle.

FOX did.
Try the PBS News Hour. I did the other night and I found myself curiously calmer at the end.
