The clingers are buying them up.

Record Gun Sales Continue Through May

The FBI completed a record 1,870,000 checks through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, or NICS, this May, according to an agency report. That’s almost 300,000 more checks than May of 2015, which set a record at the time. It is also nearly a million more checks than May 2008.

The answer is right in the article

Gun rights activists see a connection between the increased gun sales and calls by Democrats for new gun control.

Obama, the best marketing gimmick ever invented for firearm manufacturers. Every time a blow hard Politician rattles on about gun control everyone knows there is the window of opportunity to get around it based on grandfathering.

What's a clinger, someone who is taking advantage of a freedom before its eliminated?
Oh how awful lol

Gun checks are unconstitutional and should be eliminated, by the way.

That is just a gun dealer's way of saying they are cashing in on suckers. No one is going to eliminate the right to own and buy guns, but if people are dumb enough to think that, then let them poor their money into the economy buying more guns. It means nothing to me if someone wants to stockpile their basement full of guns and ammo because they fear the government might someday come and take them all away.

No, there has never been a ban on all guns, there have been bans on some specific types of guns, but if a fear of guns being taken away is what helps the economy, then by all means, suckers should run to their gun store and give them all their money. It is great for the economy.

Or, we just stock pile weapons because we like them. I think some do just to **** off liberals but those of us born in the Country see them as tools. You can't roof with a shovel anymore than you can do well digging with a hammer. Duck hunting with an AR is frowned upon and long range target shooting with a shottie is well, dumb.

Amazingly enough most firearms are back down in price which will change as soon as Hillary starts yapping. But yes, good for the economy.

Some people collect stamps, I collect guns. Right now guns are as good as gold and have appreciated well if you buy them at the right times. If you buy low guns are a great investment.

I have never seen a gun dealer advertise on TV, or on the radio in major markets.

Sure, I am positive some people buy lots of guns just because they like them, that is a very reasonable reason to buy something. Though we both know there are also those that stockpile in fear of some fictional war with the government that they think is coming too.

Probably because that would be a waste of money, those seeking to buy lots of guns to stockpile will simply seek them out and give them all their money.

I really think those are few and far between. The extreme preppers are few. Yes, it's fear driven but mostly out of the fact everyone reads it as now or never. I fell into that one once too but no regrets about what I bought.
