What do you think about free education for life for all citizens?

What about free housing, food, and a car, for life?

All are impractical and antithetical to our way of life and government.

There is no such thing as free education and you are not entitled to someone else's labor.

Switzerland recently voted down a voter referendum to provide all citizens (adults and even children) with a guaranteed income regardless of whether they're working or not. The scary thing is, they got something like 22% of the vote approving it. Really, it's just a matter of time before the American public begins demanding free income, and I'm afraid that it would get a lot of support. Jobs are leaving, combined with large public debt and an influx of low skilled immigrants is a recipe for disaster.

I don't want to have to pay for it in taxes.

I read about that. Switzerland is one of 4 or 5 countries I would move to.

It is funny how as we move in one directions, countries that have been in that direction for 60+ years are moving opposite... Speeded up, of course, by the current immigration fiascos.

This. There is no such thing as free anything. Either someone else is paying or you pay later.

We've had it for years. Just go to your local public library. And now, there's a lot of free knowledge on the internet.

Why do you equate education to college only? I learn a lot about marine life at the aquarium, animals at the zoo, science at the science museums and music at the performance halls

I learn about people by interacting with them out in public and online

no such thing as free anything. someone has to pay for it, someone has to make it, someone has to teach it, etc. are all these people going to work for free also?
