You can't carry a firearm in a place that serves alcohol. Those victims had no chance to defend themselves.

I haven't checked this out for myself, but apparently, in Florida, you can carry in club/bar. Several posters from Florida have said so in the big thread.
It is illegal to randomly shoot people no matter where you live in the US. It is also illegal to just randomly point any weapon at people in a public place. It made no difference if people could or could not carry. What additional laws could have helped stop this shooting? If people do not respect the lives of others or their own life; I do not think that we could ever legislate meaningful deterrents.
The last reference I have seen was 2013. At that time it was illegal to carry a gun into any place that sold mostly alcohol.
Previously in this thread or another, several florida posters confirmed that you can carry in a bar if you are seated at a table.
I didn't look this up to find out for myself, nor do I understand why it would be restricted to being seated at a table. Unless playing pool or dancing is unusually fight-provoking in florida?
Mateen's weapons license is less restricted than an ordinary license, and like a cop, he could carry his weapon everywhere.
