Trump claims P.C. is deadly, Obama says it necessary. What say you ? Be sure to weigh in on the poll.
Negative views of both Hillary and Trump are moving up. I think the people are disgusted and the MSM not providing honest reporting is being rejected also.
This is meant to be a broad topic so don't hold back on supporting your position in any area of P.C. please.
Political correctness is really just a way of being polite. Basically, don't say ****** in public. Things like that. I think that at an individual level, PC can be good. Honesty is more important, and if honesty and PC ever clash, honest should come first. But be honest in a polite way.
There is such a thing as PC gone too far. That's when people get fired over tweets and things like that. Saying something racist unintentionally should not be a career ending thing. Explain that it was unintentional and that you meant no offense, and the controversy, if one develops, should end there and never be brought up again.
As is often the case, I think the truth lies somewhere in the middle. PC does something good which makes politics more civil and accessible, but too much can make it more dishonest than it already is.
It can be dangerous when it is followed like dogma which I believe to be the case with our current president and a large part of the left and the establishments from both sides. We are watching Europe throw a thousand years of culture and accomplishment out the window in the name of political correctness and we are in danger of doing something similar here if we do not change course soon. The kind of political correctness we are experiencing now is not rational, it is almost hysterical.
The anger about "political correctness" is simply white males being bitter that they can't say whatever racist and sexist comments without repercussions like the good ole days.

Some things that fall under the very large umbrella of PC is baloney. Like only referring to husbands/wives in California in a manner reflecting gender or not being able to tell a gay joke unless you are gay or a black joke unless you are black . . . and so one. However, some use the anti-PC movement as license to be an &$#hole and say boneheaded things. Not being politically correct does not mean you get to call people racist names or make racist/hateful rants. You can say these things (because that is freedom of speech), but you also have to face the backlash from individuals and the opinions of organizations. Although, no one should suffer consequences that harm their person/livelihood as this is the very definition of NOT having freedom of speech.
