To the best of my knowledge, a DNA test (at this time) can't determine with absolute accuracy, Indian heritage. That being said, her claim to be an Indian got her oppportunities she otherwise would not of had. If she is not an Indian, that speaks to her character.
It speaks to her character anyway. Checking the "Native American" box is for people who are from or at the very least only one generation removed from the reservations which are disadvantaged communities. People with blonde hair and blue eyes have no business identifying as Native American, the fact that she did proves either stupidity, ignorance, or dishonesty. She should have apologized and resigned.

Like has been pointed out by another poster, it got her nothing. The person who headed up the committee that hired her for the Harvard job said the subject never came up.
As a reminder, NA children were removed from their parents and put in boarding schools so as to erase their culture. It has not been verified one way or the other by her family members. Could be lore, could be true.
I think all Elizabeth Warren probably meant was that there was some percentage of Native American in her and her family tree. I don't know why that would be such an incredulous claim if her family has been here for a long time.
"Some percentage" does not permit you to make the claim on an official form. If it did everyone could claim minority status. Somewhere down the line there is a minority lineage in everyone.
That said, no one has been able to show any Native American blood in hers and she even quit making the claim after getting tenure.

What on Earth would you expect them to say? That they were duped?
Harvard used her to prove that they were complying with Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP). She wasn't named in the report but Harvard listed one Native American woman on their law faculty in 1999.

It would be silly for her to take a DNA test and she shouldn't be forced to.
What I don't like about Granny Warren is that she lied about her heritage and took advantage of it. By checking that box she was given an opportunity that should have went to someone else with real credentials.
She lied to take advantage of the system and her colleagues and most of America doesn't care.
Lies, Deceit, Taking advantage, Being a hypocrite at Heart...
Warren would be the perfect running mate for Hillary they are like 2 peas in a pod.

If Hillary does choose Elizabeth Warren as her running mate, should she be forced to undergo a DNA to prove her claims to Native American ancestry? I think if she truly believes she's Native American and not lying about it, then she won't be afraid to have her real ancestry revealed.

If we eliminated all the people with a smidget NA, one would find America doesn't have many NA left.......yet their population keeps growing even if a person just claims NA.
If Warren received any money on the stand she is NA, she should have had to have proof, just saying it doesn't make it true.
