Former Congressman Joe Walsh tweeted "This is now war. Watch out Obama" after the Dallas cop killings. Twitter took it down, but Walsh stands by what he said, although he insists he wasn't trying to incite actual violence. He said "Real America is coming after you." He says his remarks were misinterpreted, but doesn't explain what he "really" meant.:

"An unrepentant Walsh stood by his tweets Friday morning, saying in a Tribune interview: "Of course I didn't mean, 'Let's go kill Obama and Black Lives Matter.' I was not trying to incite violence against Obama and Black Lives Matter. That's crazy and stupid and wrong."
He added: "It would end my career and it's wrong. I would never say anything as reprehensible as that."

Ex-Illinois Rep. Walsh says Twitter took down Dallas tweet 'Watch out Obama' - Chicago Tribune

Why isn't the FBI arresting him? Sure sounds like a threat to Obama. I love how he says he wouldn't do it because it would end his career---how about because violence is always wrong, except in self-defense? And the obsession with Obama is incredible---he'll be out of office in half a year, so why not move on from this Obama hatred? And "Real America?" African-Americans aren't part of real America? Seems like they have been a part of this country for over 240 years--much longer than my ancestors have been here!

I think he should have been arrested immediately. It sounds like it is a felony:

Threatening the President of the United States is a class D felony under United States Code Title 18, Section 871. It consists of knowingly and willfully mailing or otherwise making "any threat to take the life of, to kidnap, or to inflict bodily harm upon the President of the United States".

It would end my career….LOL ….Joe, your career ended when people were forced to listen to you for two years. He represented a district near where I live, dumb conservative rednecks grow like stalks of corn in this part of the country.

But its not all bad, he lost his reelection bid in 2012.

I like Joe Walsh better when he is playing in The Eagles.

Sounds like a threat to me. That counts as an assault. If I said that about someone I would probably and justifiably be arrested and charged with assault.

"Watch out" in and of itself doesn't have to be a threat. I tell my husband to watch out all the time when he's driving in case he didn't see someone doing something that could result in an accident. And to watch out for the cat so as not to trip over her or let her out.

But when you mention war and say "Real America is coming to get you," "watch out" sounds a whole lot more threatening!

Joe Walsh is a blowhard who exaggerates for shock value. There's a reason he lost the election.

Sounds like an idiot seeking to provide a spark to his faltering political career with opportunistic blather on the back of this tragedy.
