We conservatives do NOT do that to liberals. Of course we argue vigorously for our positions but we usually are more civil about it. We do not block streets, scream like lunatics holding signs and disrupt civil society to make sure our temper tantrums are heard. We have other things we need to do like go to work, support ourselves, take care of our kids, feed them, educate them etc. Of course we need to work hard to make sure millions in assistance goes out to take care of those masses in the streets holding signs, whining etc.
Oh really? You haven't really listened to Limbaugh, Beck, Savage, and Alex Jones? They're absolute paragons of civility - NOT.
And did you miss the Tea Party folks flipping out about Obama, calling him racial names and other things?
I think some folks take freedom of speech way beyond its reach. If Trump becomes president you will see a lot of people just saying off the wall stuff to people.
Deranged Progressives have been doing that for at least 2 decades.
That's too narrow a view of the concept. The government has the most power in general and the most power to limit speech if it chooses. But many other institutions also restrict what ideas may be expressed.
I notice when something racist is said on social media or it general by whites and it gets a lot of backlash, whites then talk about political correctness and not having freedom of speech.
Whites do make it seem like they're the only group "effected" by this so-called political correctness? Aren't non-whites affected by it as well?

It's a free country. If non-whites are adversely affected by political correctness, they can speak out for themselves just as well as white people. Non-starter of a thread.
Political correctness is a way for the Left to control what people think and say. For example, it's not politically correct to describe people by their skin color which is why the San Bernandino bombers were able to openly plot their attack without being caught. Several white neighbors saw suspicious looking Arab people coming and going from the attackers' apartment, but instead of alerting the police, they didn't say anything because they feared being called racists.
So it seems like from this post and others political correctness is just about discussing race and nothing else.
It's also PC for blacks to not criticize whites on certain things. Otherwise, they'll get a lot of backlash from whites and their worshipers.

For example, blacks always have lower SAT scores than other races, are far more prone to commit violent crimes than other races and have a sky-high rate of illegitimacy.
Many SJWs would consider the above statement racist coming from a white person such as myself.
Moreover, since blacks are the only race to consistently dominate each and every single category of ****ing up, there is no occasion for the tables to be turned, as you propose, since the same or similar charges would be, in the case of whites, factually incorrect.
The function of political correctness is to prevent acknowledgement and acceptance of what is factually true if the truth contradicts the SJW narrative, which, for the record, is almost always factually incorrect.
PC speech codes are part of a larger statist program of silencing factually correct critics that began in the 1970s following the adaptation of many leftist narrative-spawned misdirectives aimed at curtailing the alleged prejudicial activities of white working-class/middle-class Americans who spent their time caring for their families, obeying the law and paying their taxes.
Today, that something happens to be true or false is judged by decades-old narratives that have themselves, over time, been proven to be false, so we now find ourselves intellectually and socially adrift with only political correctness to prevent us from asking how we got here in the first place.
