Not sure what you are reading, but Germany's economy is in trouble. It was booming some time ago with the largest economy, exports, great manufacturing, but that is slowing. Refugee crime has increased significantly, and that's understandable since Merkel flooded so many in so quickly, they are all holed up in camps waiting for the processing.
Germany is paying refugees to leave, but Merkel's message is confusing. She still advocates an open door policy, open borders, but then in the next breath slams Germany's door shut to them, then changes her mind again. Germany is bitterly divided on the refugees.
Merkel has bragged about bringing in hundreds of thousands of new young refugees workers with Germany's aging population, and that is understandable, but it has been at a huge expense to the Germans. The New Years Eve attacks on women by the refugees was a big turning point for this. Merkel made too many mistakes in this refugee flood.
