Does anyone think shooting should be removed from the Olympics?
This may sound like a ridiculous question, but the liberals at the Apple company banned the gun emoji. Maybe the same people think having shooting in the Olympics promotes violence?
Personally I think the NRA should sponsor the shooters on Team USA, and that the team should recruit from the military, especially the Marines and special operations soldiers and snipers. If only there was a medal named after Chris Kyle.
Yes, precision target shooting should be an Olympic sport. No, it should not be militarized -- that goes against the spirit of the Olympics. Civilian shooters only.
Shooting is a martial skill. It's quite appropriate. The shotput, discus, javeline and hammer are all ancient battlefield weapons. As is the bow and arrow. The Olympics is a martialy oriented event.

Why - we have professional basketball players representing us. That to me goes against the spirit of the Olympics.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned that it goes against the spirit of peace. That it might be a microaggression or a trigger against refugees for instance.
Many liberals are against guns even existing. Look at Tim Cook and his liberal team at Apple Computers who removed the gun emoji because it was "violent" and "offensive". Do the same people not find sport shooting to be violent and offensive? Wouldn't seeing those rifles at the Games make the Syrian and Iraqi athletes feel "unsafe" and need a safe space?

If they feel unsafe then they shouldn't go to that event. I'm so sick and tired of everyone having to change their lives because a few people might be offended. Ugh....

Two separate issues. Pro NBA players are paid athletes but not warriors. The Olympics were recreated in 1896 as a way of nations to compete in a peaceful way instead of military engagement. The military does not belong by definition. There's nothing stopping someone from organizing a separate international competition among military snipers.
Shooting is OK, but I'd get rid of all the subjective "judged" events like gymnastics, dressage, prettiest high dive...
