...and the same democrats who endlessly criticized Bush and marched in the streets protesting his policies are strangely silent now.
While we are on the subject, for all of the current talk about how ugly and full of hate the crowds are at a Trump rally, I remember the years of Bush protests and democrats really are no better and in many cases, worse.
The U S interventionist foreign policy is a mess and both sides are responsible for the damage it has caused the ME . And that will never change since the MIC needs to be fed and CFR members and the pentagon will make sure that is always the case. One thing that struck me on Hillary's emails that were hacked was a discussion about Chile"s election. Like Chile's election is some kind of concern to most Americans and is a national security issue. LMAO Yep, lets spread democracy and freedom until that country elects the wrong leader.
The other problem with New START is that President Obama had to give an enormous gift to his congressional opposition simply to get the treaty approved — or, at least, he thought he did. Obama wooed the likes of Jon Kyl, a conservative Arizona senator, who said he’d support the treaty if it included a little sweetener for the nuclear industry. As I wrote in 2011:
Kyl sold his “support” for the treaty by insisting that an $85 billion modernization of the U.S. nuclear complex be included in the package. It might seem odd that the party that purports to prohibit pork endorsed the biggest BBQ blow-out of them all: a 10-year obligatory upgrade in the very systems that we’re supposed to eliminate.
OK, fair enough. Politics is a game of give-and-take. Kyl…managed to get a good deal for himself. But here’s the ugly part. After practically gutting New START, Kyl worked overtime to defeat the treaty!
What do you expect? Can't wait for the chorus of Obama doesn't negotiate or try to with Republicans...
It's so much easier to attack Putin/Russia/Trump than to examine the expansion of the U.S./Nato militaristic actions and threats under the leadership of Obama/Clinton. I have no idea what a Trump presidency would be like [& probably never will], but war, war, and more war under Clinton is a certainty. It's funny in a way that true progressives know what an expansionist hawk she is while standard D's defend her at all costs at the expense of their own honesty & integrity.
