600K is not that special of a home in most cities.

There could be unicorns flying over rainbows above a waterfall and I wouldn't live where $600k bought an old 2 bedroom fixer-up.

$600K will buy you a beautiful, brand new, 5000 square foot, 5 bedroom, 4.5 bath, 4 car garage home with a pool and hot tub and all the indoor and outdoor luxury trimmings in my area... so those saying "eh, nothing special" should keep in mind it goes both ways.

Anyway, I'm not a fan of some of Bernie's ideas, felt he was earnest but a yuuuge statist / authoritarian, but don't like how easily he threw in the towel under duress... but come on, he's been around a while, he and his wife made decent salaries, etc. I don't begrudge him his ability to earn money and buy property at all (with the caveat that I think there should be term limits of course).

This is the third post about Bernie's new house. His wife sold the old family vacation home and bought one they like better.

He has a cheap ass condo in DC and a house in Vermont. too.

Hillary had to buy a house in NYC because no condo board in Manhattan would let them in the building due to trouble with SS going through everyone's groceries and shopping bags.

I don't think the people criticizing him begrudge him making that money, they begrudge people who talk about how everyone should be equal while living above most people.

All perspective, but there are pages and pages of 600K homes in my suburb and they all look the same to me.

If they can't figure out how to make a lot of money they don't want you to have it either.

You're in Texas though...everything is ridiculously big and opulent there

Not according to Bernie. He'd rather seize it from your paycheck and hand it over to some leech.

Yeah, I'm sure that was the reason.
