Today on NBCs coverage of the Olympics, they featured a very flamboyant guest who wore a fur coat. When asked by one if the hosts what kind of coat it was, the proud answer was...

Mink.

No PETA outrage?

The guest was Johnny Weir. That guest is also a color commentator.

Animal rights groups won't touch that.

A quick online search indicates PETA has been on Weir's back for a while....assuming it's ice skater Johnny Weir that you saw.

I also read NBC said NO furs during Olympics coverage, so he's taunting the PETA and biting the hand that feeds him.

Yes.

NBC had to know the coat would be shown, its all rehearsed.

There musy be some immunity for Weir. Sort of dilutes the PETA message as well as all those celebrities asking for donations for animal shelters.

Since many of those celebrities also appear in NBC I guess the love of animals goes only so far.

I agree. It's like DiCaprio flying around in his private jet to speak about the environment and global warming. Gimme a break.

And why should I care what Weir wears or what PETA thinks?

What part of the OP's post made you think it was being directed to you personally, creating the need for you to take part in the thread?

Gayness trumps animal rights in the hierarchy of political correctness.

So it's ok for a transsexual to carry a gun too?
