Don't you know facts don't matter.

Then why are the people in WI rioting for the guy who was just shot while pointing a loaded gun at police?

Dr. King wrote that letter while imprisoned in a jail in Birmingham in response to a statement written by eight white Alabama clergymen:

We are not talking about protesting. We are talking about rioting. Big difference!

But what a great writer and orator MLK was! No one writes like that anymore.

I agree! the BLM and opportune looters are out of control and the National Guard should engage with lethal force.

It is time we take our streets.

BLM has lost their message and is more about uncontrolled thugs!

Black Lives Matter is a Civil Rights Movement. It's about injustice. It's about the conditions & the underlying or root causes that are bringing about the demonstrations & protests.

I agree with you about Dr. King, I have great respect & admiration for him. Although there are folks in the present day who are carrying on his unfinished work.

I didn't know that was the suspect's sister. What a family! And that article said the alderman was threatening that there would be more riots if the problems in the community were not addressed, such as inequity and unemployment. Uh, did they not just burn down businesses in the community that provided jobs? Do they expect more businesses would want to move there? If unemployment is an issue, the absolute worst way to rectify it is to destroy local businesses.

I would say it's a shame Obama doesn't invite him to the WH but this gentleman is to good to be in the presence of that race baiter. Obama isn't half the man that this gentleman is.

Yeah, but not with his communication skills, or his heart. They really need someone like Dr. King now, but they are not getting that with this movement.

Every once in a while, a person comes along who can string words together in the most beautiful way, and inspire people to great heights. Dr. King is in a league with Shakespeare as far as poetic language is concerned, but he was actually fighting for something.

Oh really.

Bull Connor directed the use of fire hoses and police attack dogs against civil rights activists; this included the children of many protestors.[1][2] These tactics exposed the extent of racism when shown on national television. They served as one of the catalysts for major social and legal change in the Southern United States and contributed to passage by the United States Congress of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.[3]...

The day after the April election, civil rights leaders, led by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., began "Project 'C'" (for "confrontation") in Birmingham against the police tactics used by Connor and his subordinates (and, by extension, other Southern police officials). King's arrest during this period would provide him the opportunity to write his famous Letter from Birmingham Jail. The goal of this movement was to cause mass arrests and subsequent inability of the judicial and penal systems to deal with this volume of activity. ..."
