I haven't seen any news coverage of the US Olympian that made history by being the first woman to medal in 6 consecutive Olympics.

Why is that never on when I'm watching?

The other day they had men's field hockey on. Sure, an obscure sport for once but who the heck wants to watch that? At least they weren't in skirts.

there were a lot of events that were ignored. equestrian was one of them too. you don't really see sponsors tripping over themselves for jocky's or horse jumpers.

what I didn't like at all was the very first gold medal won by anyone at these Olympics was by USA's Ginny Thrasher - for the 10m air rifle. And boy did the internet bring on the hate! "of course the US wins a gold at shooting..." etc.

They *do* show the Olympics all day long on NBC, starting at 9 am, running all day until 5 pm, then from 7 -11 pm. I have cable and have had five channels of full coverage. I've caught coverage of just about every single sport. There is no shortage of it. If you can't be bothered to download a FREE app in order to watch the specific event you are interested in, you really shouldn't complain at all.

you can also stream any event you want on your computer. you just need your user name and password for your cable provider.

Too much work. Complaining on an Internet forum is more satisfying.

DirecTv has seven channels with coverage, and like you said, there is a web-site and an mobile app where you can stream the rest. People complain for the sake of complaining.

I just wish NBC's app wasn't so darn crappy. One of our favorites for the Summer Olympics to watch is archery. Could only really find the coverage on the app and it was always having issues from one thing or another when trying to stream.

I watch every Olympics religiously - just one of my all time favorite sporting events. Have to say the coverage this time around is decidedly worse than usual. It's a combination of showing popular events much too late in the evening to NBC's over emphasis on specific sports and athletes. In the past, they did a decent job of highlighting athletes in all kinds of sports - even ones most people don't watch - and even other countries. Not as much this time around.

They have. Its not just trap/skeet and bullseye anymore. They have IPSC combat events now. Very fast paced and exciting. Still, shooting has never been covered outside of shooting circles. The outdoor channel, that's about it.

I don't like downloading random apps on my devices that take of up space I need for other things.

I work 9-5 and the couple days I was home they were not showing anything except the sports I mentioned. My son especially wanted to watch wrestling and it has not been shown on the regular NBC channel. My husband is a boxing fan and hasn't seen any boxing. I do not have cable and am not going to buy it because IMO it is a waste of money since we rarely watch TV. But my teenager is wrestling this year and he was interested in watching the Olympics wrestling. It is still summer vacation so he is home all day and has looked up the schedule to watch wrestling and it is not playing on regular TV. He also did download the app on his device and said it does not stream well.
