If you are a protectionist you are a big government guy who has left the Reagan revolution.

Ford warned UAW / members they would relocate the operation to Mexico during negotiations.

UAW held firm.

Ford is bringing this to a natural conclusion.

Mexico has more free trade agreements with the rest of the world than any other country.

Ford exports small cars to the rest of the world. Mexico makes it a no brainier.

An auto manufacturer is not going to survive by limiting sales to just 5% of the world's population who reside in the US when it has the opportunity to sell product to the 95% who live elsewhere.

As far as unions go I am agnostic. Join one if you want to, and you shouldn't have to if you don't want to.

That said why should those who actually do the work agree to take less so those sitting at home on their asses watching a ticker get more?

The story isn't about Trump. The story is being discussed.

Actually, Renegotiating NAFTA would mean undoing the economic infrastructure that ties Mexico, Canada, and the U.S. It would likely mean that Congress would be involved because this is how we do it in the U.S.

Even Republicans are worried that the Trump effect at the polls could help liberals and progressives grab power in the chamber that's responsible for national spending and taxes.

So those who believe Trump alone can fix things, well, they need to realize it is not that simple.

I, like tens of millions of other Americans have a 401K. I go to work, for a Japanese multinational everyday, and hope the Dow Jones goes up. I need about another 100K before I can go to leisurely self-employment. Hopefully about 3 years.

You are owed nothing. Put in some O/T or volunteer to take a pay cut so your stock prices go up.
